Wonder if anyone can help my grnadfather William Henry Briggs born 1str August 1884 South Hackney lived with my grandmother Rebecca Ellen 28/11/1884.
She was previously married to Herbert Henry Cox whom died in 1940 and my nan and grandad marrried in 1949. She previously had three children and then my nan and grandad went on and had three children long before they were married.
Previously the name Lydia has come up on the childrens birth certs Lydia briggs late cox forerly belsham which would relate to my grandmother but not the Lydia bit? Then when i got the marriage cert throughfor my nan and grandad it says in his condtion box " fornerly husband of Lydia briggs forn=merly Stamp (could also be stump) spinster from whom he obtained a divorce"
Sorry this is long winded by wanted to suipply as much info as possible.
What i would like to know is can anyone find a marriage between these two people William HenrY Briggs and Lydai stamp/stump or is she made up as my nan put her name as Lydia on some of the childrens birth cert.

Sorry if this is confusing but if you can help i would be very grateful

Mandy
