My husband descends from a Catrin/Catherine Griffiths from Prenteg going back to 1816. Tina I have sent you a private message re seeing if we have a connection. |

with all your vague info, you need to buy one of her childrens birth certs- it will tell you her maiden name at least |

thank you all for your help, in the photo of 1851 she looks quite old so i would think she was born around 1800, i am reasonably sure that Griffiths would have been her married name, i would hope that the catherine griffiths born in 1859 might be her grand-daughter, by one of her sons as the name would be carried on? if i could have the details of that catherine griffiths my mother might have heard of her. the coincidence of her being born in Prenteg (which is a very small village) is certainly worth a closer look. again very many thanks |

Was this her married or maiden name? There is a Catherine Griffiths born 1859 prenteg but she is single 1891! |

i am trying to find details of my great great gandmother catrin Griffith (gruffydd), she lived in a small village called Prenteg near Porthmadog Caernarvonshire in 1851 as i have some photos of her there. any help especially any connecting names would be most appreciated. |
