And I know exactly what you mean. I'm gutted when I've sent for and waited for a cert to arrive, only to find it's the wrong family!

I agree with Florence. In this case buying Ivy Louisa's birth cert is worth the risk.

Otherwise you'll always be wondering.

Hi Christina No I won't give in. I have looked for a marriage in 1885 of Lucy and William so I am going to assume at the moment that they were living together and I will send for the birth cert. just to satisfy myself one way or another. I shall let you know the outcome. Dannie
