Please could someone help locate Edward Henry SKERRETT in 1911?
He was born in September 1890 in Blaengarw, Llangeinor, Glamorgan, Wales but by 1901 the family have moved back to Whitbourne on the Herefordshire border.
Here he is in 1901, called Henry to distinguish him from his father, Edward Henry. The son is back to Edward Henry when he married in Wolverhampton in June 1911.

RB Thank you for these, ... That's great, they are all 'mine'....all related to one another.
Edward Henry the son gives an address of Fordhouses, Bushbury when he married. He was a farm labourer.
I missed the programme filmed in Blaengarw. I wonder if I can find it online or watch out for a repeat. Do you know the title please? I'd be interested to watch it. My grandmother was born there in 1893 and Mum used to go there for holidays, as a child to stay with relatives. !

..missed you there Jan ! Thank you for helping.
Edward married in Bushbury, Staffordshire to Janet MATTHEWS. I have spoken to a descendant of theirs and details seem to fit with 'my' Edward.

It might be interesting if your contact has an address from this, you never know! And an occupation for him too.

Everything about this is wrong apart from the location. On the original he is definitely Skerrett but Richard. I can't locate a birth for him but I have only taken a quick look.

Astra I saw that also on the 1911 and as you say it is definately Skerrett on the actual image.
On the service record of Edward Henry Skerrett when he signed up in 1915 his address is The Rookery, Ford Houses nr Wolverhampton (aah he was only 5' 2 and half inches) wife Janet Matthews marr 3/6/19111 first child Winifred May 29 /2 /1912 born Cannock and then Edward James born 25/10/1918 Wolverhampton
so hopefully that should determine for Gwyn if it is the right person or not

Thank you for your work in my absence.
That is the correct Army record. I knew of Winifred, but not an actual birthdate, but Edward James has a birthdate which shows in my notes.
I don't know what to think about Richard, ..although it is such a near match in other information. This family group are notorious for registering the child as one name, then they go through life called something different!
With incorrect birthplace too, they don't make it easy. I rather think though that Richard might be the missing Edward !
