Charles is 15 on the 1861 census suggesting a year of birth more likely to be 1845...

I HAVE A CHARLES HARDWICK IN1861 HE'S 13 LIVING WITH HIS FATHER CHARLES B 1823 CHELTENHAM GLOUCESTER MOTHER ELIZABETH 1826 KIDDERMINSTER WORCESTER
THEIR DOWN AS HORDGER BUT IT ALSO HAS HARDWICK, I'VE BEEN ON LCD AND BATCH NUMBERS BUT I CAN'T FIND A MARRIAGE FOR CHARLES HARDWICK & ELIZABETH
NOR CAN I FIND BIRTHS FOR
