Hello kind people , can anyone PLEASE help me in my search for lost relations?. Looking for Julia V. Garden , b: circa 1898 in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire and Alexander Stewart also b:circa1898 in Buckie (area) Banffshire.
I believe that they Married in Buckie circa 1918, if possible details of any family that they may have had.

They were married in 1918 in Rathven in Banff

There are 80 Stewart Births between 1918 -1928 in Rathven/Banff

Do you have any idea of names of children?

There is also a Julia Stewart /Garden death in 1974 aged 76 (not in Banff though)

Birth is 1897 in Peterhead for Julia

Hi, Cathy thank you for your help, this may well be my relatives, unfortunately I don't have any names, don't even know if they had any children.
As you say there are many Stewarts in that area.
At time of marriage Alexander was a fisherman,living in the Rathven area, Julia lived in Peterhead, this is probably how they met.
Will keep searching.

Hi, Cathy,does your ifo. give Julia's middle name? it was Victoria. Dates seem to tie in, does your inf. say where this death was registered please?.

Yes James it is Victoria......not sure where though as I'm only doing a free search.
You would have to send for the cert anyway as the online deaths are only up to 1959.

But you might find a child as the informant and it's definately the right death.

EDIT: Just found the county is Moray but for some reason it doesn't give the district?

Yes James, just put in the details I've given you and do a free search until

you are sure you have the right record and then buy credits.

30 for £6 is the minimum but you will find they are well worth it!

The Certificate will cost £10

Will you let us know how you got on please?

And don't forget you can get the marriage certificate of Alexander

& Julia online immediately! All it will cost in one credit for the

record and then another 5 to get the image, so about £1.20 in

all......

That will give you both fathers names and occupations and both mothers

maiden names. Also witnesses at the wedding! A real bargain I would

say!

Then of course you can find the families on the Census, although you

probably have them on the 1901 Census already have you?

Deaths prior to 1958 are availabble to view online at Scotlandspeople - its 1934 for marriages and 1909 for births. The more recent certificates do have to order though as Cathy has said.
