Moose is very good ........... as is Bison.

Both are much like Venison, maybe a little more gamey.

I've had them all as roasts, stews, tenderloin, sausages, etc

Persephone

Persephone Report 2 Jan 2012 22:40

Jonesey was talking about cooked reindeer and I eat Venison, and have a recipe or two for Moose, I think I would probably like it.... Sorry Dea...

Some of the Chocolate Mousses can be a bit rich.. prefer a tiramisu or a pannacotta

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 2 Jan 2012 22:07

and where would they have got MOOSE, the animal, in the UK??

Over here .......... it's very common, usually killed by the person themselves. Although becoming more common in specialty butchers shops, as attempts are being made to "farm" moose, just like cows.

'course it was virtuous of me, C :-D

Been out with friends all afternoon and ended up in the pub....with moi as taxi driver

Three around the table are French so half of the banter was, guess what, in French.....I could understand about ever 10th word where as all the others speak excellent French......Im such a dummy :-(

We were invited back for supper........moose was on the menu minus the antlers........we declined

Anyhow, just got back in time for Corrie and Enders........
