Hi Sylvia,

It is a shame air travel is still so expensive..well it still is here and it doesn't sound cheap from your end either. I know when my brother died overseas and the children had to get to him quickly before the life support was turned off, the airline knew they were desperate and charged them $5.000 each to travel. luckily their grandparents paid and managed to recoup some of the money back after contacting the airline and making a complaint.

Was your OH cousin in pain or anything like that to make her pass so quickly?

Hi Grace

Hope all is well today?

No ....... I'm not going back. He's only going to go for 7 days, and that quite honestly is too short a period for me to be able to recover from what I know is an uncomfortable flight .......... and we can't afford business class for such a short trip.

Even travelling economy will cost him over $2,000 for a 7 day return trip (or around £1,000)

We had been hoping that Maggie would hang in there for several months, but the end has come very quickly, in less than a week.

We were only talking over the Christmas break about possibly going to England in either June or September for 3 or 4 weeks ................. seeing her, and other friends, plus parts that we have never seen. Also, my childhood friend has moved back from Australia (near Mudgee) to live with her sister in Ireland.

B is also in bad straits ....... she has Parkinsons, but has also been bed-ridden for several months for some reason (she hasn't said what) ............. and we would take the opportunity to go over and see her. We last saw B in Mudgee in 2006.

I'm just having a chuckle at Dea being changed into Hitler - I don't think the moustache will suit you.

Morning everyone, hope you are all well.

Sorry to hear your news Sylvia. Will you go back with OH when he travels?

Just heard

OH's cousin died a short time ago.

OH will be going back ............. but we have to wait until, possibly tomorrow, to find out what arrangements have been made ..... ie, when the service or memorial will be held.

RIP Maggie

Oh yes, and the similarity in looks between Queen Mary, our Queen and Princess Anne is outstanding. Very strong genetics in that family.

Re Stephen Lawrence

My oldest daughter started at the same school as him but 2 years younger. Her original school had closed.
He had made a point of asking how she was getting on just a few days before he was killed.
