Hi Renes

yes ..... but Air Canada's partner is British Midland

... and it always makes it easier (and cheaper) to travel with the partner.

There might well have been an earlier plane from London to M/c ............ but then he would have had to claim his bag, gone through Immigration and Customs, then haul the case over to the other Terminal, look after it until it was time to check-in, and then line up to check his bag in.

Using BM meant that he just had to claim his bag and take it through Customs ............ then hand it back to the airline to transfer it over to BM. He then just had to get himself and carry-on over to the other Terminal

Hi C
xx

I'm having a great time!

I love it when he goes away for a few days.

The year he and J spent in NZ while I stayed here was not so much fun ... and also took a lot of adjustment after they returned, because I had made changes in the house . :-)

But I get to really do what I want or eat what I want for a few days, without having to think about anyone else :-D

Shouldn't have taken him too long from Manchester to Cheshire Sylvs...good motorway links. Bet he was tired though.

Are you coping in your solitude??? :-D

OH's journey took a long time:-

The plane left Vancouver at ca 2:15 am London time, arrived in London just before noon, then he had about 4 hours to wait, before catching the flight to Manchester. That plane arrived in Manchester at about 5:45 pm, and then they had to drive to their destination.

He had to be at Vancouver Airport 3 hours before departure, and so he left home at about 10:45 pm London time.

so, it took about 19 hours from our house to Manchester, and then however long it took to drive.

Hi all

had about 1-2 cm snow when I looked out at about 7 am this morning.

Since then we've had rain, sun, dark clouds, and now sun again

and the snow has almost all gone!

VERY probably Ginns!

I remember going to a 'keep fit Class' in my early 20' and we were all there on the floor - supposedly doing our 'sit-ups'!

I tried SO hard that each time, I moved about 2 inches forward across the floor on every effort but still only my head lifted!!

Everyone, including the instructor was absolutely baffled and convulsed in giggles by the end of the class!

I did get full marks for 'effort' though !!!

Dea Xxx :-D

You should always raise your knees when doing sit ups Dea....bad for the lower back if you dont. I broke my back some years ago and have to be careful

Do you know, that is the one thing that I have NEVER been able to do - a 'sit-up' !!! ;-)

I lie on my back and try and try and as much as I try, only my head will lift up off the floor - from the neck down, I stay flat there!!!

I can grunt and groan as much as I like - I have even tried lifting my legs and throwing them down at the same time as trying to throw the top part of my body up but it doesn't do anything!

I have never been able to do them - I don't know why !

Gee Report 14 Jan 2012 18:28

Dea

Dea Report 14 Jan 2012 16:59

Yeh, I know what you mean Ginns.

I have never been REALLY overweight, luckily, but in the past I have had times when I have been 'overweight'for me' if you know what I mean??

I would know this as my clothes would be tight and my waistbands 'hurt'.

I did not usually have to diet but it would be a case of doing some 'light' exercise (as I am 'llergic' to exercise ;-)) and going on my 'sensible eating diet' for a few weeks which actually meant that I usually ate more but more of the right things at the right time!

It was a nice feeling when my clothes stopped 'hurting' around the middle.

Well done to you Ginns,

Keep it up!!
