I know you will be pleased to know that I renewed tonight :-D

I was in two minds, but as I was in the middle of something and had just found some info for someone ...I gave in

I only took up this hobby two years ago for something to do as I could no longer work and it was cheaper than online gaming.

I am not sure if I am into genealogy (well not my own family) I have about 650 in my tree and have only purchased two certificates, and that was right at the start of my search (mums parents marriage cert and her dads birth) but I feel it is correct so far.

I dont really have anyone to pass it onto as my kids are not interested in me so I am sure they are not going to be interested in my ancestors, so I am not going to buy any more certs to be thrown in the bin :-(

It was nice to find that my mums side of the family had better jobs as in Tailors, shoemakers,Hackney cab driver....where as my dads were all labourers,Ag labs and such like. Also very pleased to see all the illigitamate and very rushed marriages were all on my dads side...mum would have loved to rub her MIL's nose in it :-D

Anyway I am here for a tad longer now...just hope I hav'nt wasted this £9.95 because I could have bought a pack of fags and a voddie and coke with that ;-)

Problems With New Tree
philmoir Advisor 20 Jan 2012 19:34

We are aware that there are problems with the new tree and are currently trying to resolve the issues.

UPDATE: 9PM UK TIME - Although we have made some configuration changes that may have allowed members to use the new tree, we have rolled back to our previous version so that over the weekend members can still access the old version. The link to the new tree is available for some members as it was during the beta test phase. If you should find that the new tree is not responding, we would recommend using the old tree for the moment.

Our sincerest apologies,
Phil Moir
Lead Developer, Genes Reunited

we didn't get the forecast "heavy snow" .... only a couple of cms

still OH went out with his shovel, cleared our areas, then cleared the sidewalk in front of the next 2 neighbours.

He's still talking a lot!

From GR FB

We experienced problems with the new version of the tree earlier on this evening that affected the main site. We have had to revert back to the 'old tree' so everyone can continue to do their family history over the weekend. We will release the new tree early next week. Thanks for your feedback to date with the tree.

I do find it quit funny, the thought that GR could be caught up in it's own red tape....it's laughable!

Trace where is your thread about postems?

Gee

Gee Report 20 Jan 2012 17:47

Youre going away to hide your head under your wig? Dont do that Cyns......might fall orf and scare the dog

Ive had a little look at my tree and it seems OK to me, glad to see that you dont have to delete an entire line just to get rid of one person!

Quiet again round here...... :-S

Trace, I had a look at your post but don't have enough experience or knowledge on how to answer. Sorry...... :-(

LK - really sorry you are having such a bad time with the tree format.

I'm feeling quite sad :-( and perplexed :-S at the moment.

I played around with the new tree format a few days ago and tried to familiarise myself with it. A few hiccups along the way but I eventually got to grips with most of it and I enjoy it.

There are so many threads on here and on FB from those who are having a bad time that I almost feel guilty.

So, how come I, with my limited tekkie knowledge etc. have found it to work and be okay, when others, such as LK etc. are having so many problems?

A lot of the postings are from relatively new to the boards members so I guess there is an element of 'user' error and misunderstandings. Although some seem to be complaining at the first thing they don't understand - I just wish they would give things a chance first.

I have found one member who is complaining bitterly and requesting the return of the old format, actually complained bitterly when THAT one was introduced. in 2009. I guess they can't take change.......sigh.

Someone has even suggested that those of us who find it okay are getting special treatment........that makes me so sad.... :-(

I am going away to hide my head under my wing........

:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Hey peeps,

How are we all...?

I've added a post about adding actual BMD data onto the BMD as Postem's.

I'd really appreciate your opinions on it :-D

I had a bad day yesterday and I am very unhappy.
I am still trying to add one person to my tree,
Yesterday the same person ended up being duplicated several times over.
Sometimes attached just to the mother or just the father and then looped into being married to the mother,
Just managed to delete them and and them again.
First thing I notice when I add the partner is that auto fill has given him his wife's middle name,
Then it has added her place of birth.
If that is not spotted it will lead to all sorts of errors.
When I have added his details and saved it I come out and his wife and has disappeared. I can only see him on his own.
Fiddle around a bit then find him apparently married to me!!!!
Deleted again.
