Thank you Sylvs....you really do spoil us. I think I need a coffee before I tackle anything else. <3

Yes, it's OH's Kindle but he can't find any interesting books to read on it as yet. So, over to me. I fathomed out how to get on here from it but it is SO long-winded. I think the signal is a little bit low from the bedroom.

Also, I have to keep stopping to enlarge the font and, typing each letter takes longer than being able to touch type as I am doing now.

Anyway, it's fine for it's main purpose of reading and I have downloaded several free ones. All trial and error :-D

Oh yes, I've also found a site which alerts you to which books are being offered for free each day - rather like a daily offer type of thing... :-D

I trhink grandchildren are brilliant Laines:-D

I have a magnet on my 'fridge which reads... "If I had known grandchildren were so much fun, I'd have had them first!". :-D

Mine are just within a 20min drive from me which is just right although, sometimes, I wish we were a little closer. They have their own lives to lead and we are happy to be included as and when it's right.

Lovely coffee...........right....off I go......xx

Laines...

My only regret with my grandchildren is I don't see the youngest one nearly enough.. we are off to his 1st birthday soon. My daughter didn't think she would have any and then decided she would she was 36 when he was born..

My other daughter her eldest is 16 and she lived with us for her first year... it was great. We have a long weekend so they are at a churchy yahoo for three days.. it is called Parachute Festival and they have been holding it for a few years now.

Cyns... I have separate cartridges... all very professional... We used to have multi coloured one cartridge and it did give us a bit of bother from time to time.

If your daughter really is 'desperate for children' Laines - tell her to go ahead and do it !!

Many years ago when we wanted to have children, there was absolutely no way that we could afford to do it, BUT, if we hadn't done it then, we would never have done it !!!

We went ahead, struggled, and achieved what we had wanted!

If you put it off for too long you will never achieve it !!

Going to bed now but will be back in the morning !!

Nite nite all,

Having said that - I didnt feel very maternal when I was pregnant with my daughter!!! and 20 months later, my son!!!!

Am I a freak????????? Should I have maternal feelings for grandchildren?????

lainie39

lainie39 Report 27 Jan 2012 21:47

I am sure that you are right Dea - but will take your word for it!!!

My daughter is desperate for children [she loves her nieces and nephews to bits] but cannot afford her own children. I dont think that there is EVER a 'right' time - but they are just getting on their feet and now is not right!

Maybe you feel different when they are your grandchildren - I hope so - cos I dont feel very maternal at the moment!!!!

You really should envy me Laines because, although it is VERY hard work, it is REALLY wonderful !!!

Hello Sylvs!!! How you doin'? Thank you for all the wonderful breakfast and weekend lunches you have cooked. They were all wonderful...sorry that I havent replied to say that I have enjoyed the meals that you have cooked [I feel guilty - and am feeling a bit 'male' with this cos most males wouldnt even say 'thank you' - but your breakfasts and lunches are appreciated - honestly - especially your eggy-bread!!!!!!!!!!]

Dea - three years old - well what energy they have at that age is no wonder that you are kernackered!!!!!

I suppose that this is all a part of the 'fun' of being a grandparent?????????

I dont envy you!!!!

Dea

Dea Report 27 Jan 2012 21:29

Yes, I did Sylvs !!

I had ham and 'philly dilly' sandwiches and the chicken karage, followed by bourbon crean biscuits (grandchildrens favourites) !

I like that chicken hot or cold - it is delicious !!
