Still alive, just, but been rather busy and not had time for much fun recently...

Half term arrives on Friday...Hooray....Mr H goes on Sat for the week...Double Hooray...One day in bed to catch up on sleep and then the rest to play and relax and catch up on all those jobs I dont do cos Nannys little helper hinders it......Hmmmm,need a couple of months then ,not just a week.

If I get poorly this time he is away I think I shall go find the biggest sheer drop cliff I can find round here..

Gad to see you all still idly gossiping away as usual but some of us have work to do so must be off now... :-P

Sexagesima

and then there was Vicesima

one of OH's lot

why would you give the 20th child the name Vicesima ...... which means 21st book in the Bible or a Latin ordinal number?

I did Sylvs. I've trained myself to look at any infirmities our ancestors may have had - just in case. :-D

Gins....that amazing name you found????

Sexagesima........it's a religious term you twit! It's the 2nd Sunday before Lent - hence, 8th before Easter. It's still used in the church calendar these days......as is Quinquagesima., the following Sunday.

She was probably born on that day.

Trust you to think of other meanings...........sigh.

Cynthia Report 6 Feb 2012 08:47

Thank you for breakfast and the link Sylvs.

I am not at all surprised by the findings to be honest and, those of us who have learnt to deal with living with autism could have done that study free gratis!

One of the pages on the other side which is called Autism Mothers, carries the most horrific stories of what young mums from all over the world are trying to cope with. It's really upsetting to read.

Many are wildly looking around as to why this has happened and land on the old vaccine answer.

Several times I and others have added our thoughts about the genetic issue but many don't want to believe that aspect and would rather blame the vaccines.

I have tried pointing out that there were members of my OH's family who showed (according to family stories) autistic traits. As they were born in the late 1800's, they never received a vaccination but some people prefer not to think along those lines. Will pm you later.

Glad you sorted your son out Gins......we all had to learn at one stage - I learnt to stay indoors if it snowed!!

Hope you had a good time with your granddaughter Dea - did she like the scooter?

Ja...x, I only watched a couple of episodes of the programme Gins is on about. I found them too upsetting to be honest.....being an old softie, I felt for the family they were leaving behind. :-(

Looks very murky outside.....suppose I had better get moving.......

Morning all

Fruit and yoghurt sounds good to me.............thank you Sylvs

I moved the car out of the snow, son was stuck and he is a new driver........snow virgin!

Ja...x you might be in bed now but prices vary a lot. There is a programme on in the mornings on BBC1 9.20am - 10.10am about people moving 'down under'

Cost of everything is very expensive but the wages are about double to the UK, so its swings and roundabouts!
