'REAL' chefs should appreciate that everyone's tastes are different and should know how to cater for them all !!! ;-) <3

Apparently, it was something to do with it being an insult to the chef Gins?

Says a lot for my cooking then. My son has a half a bottle of ketchup on nearly absolutely everything!!!

Is you calling me a "cider swigging scrubber " Ginns ??? :-S :-0 :-( :-(

Gee Report 12 Feb 2012 15:45

Who's perfection is that though Cyns...............no business ever made money by proving a customer wrong ;-)

We've been before Dea, its called 'Kitchen' on Ecclesall Road Sheffield

Mark treated us to a meal there last summer and we took some friends last night. Service as you know was pants and the food wasnt up to much either, unlike our first visit

The same waiter came back to us at the end of the evening (I think he was maitre d) and apologised for not talking to us during the course of the meal, he said he had been busy with another table and made some remark which I know was disparaging but I didnt quite catch it all

Dea, a cider swigging scrubber can tell when a bottle of wine is corked!

Cynthia Report 12 Feb 2012 15:31

Love it Jonesey......that will be passed on........ ;-)

Gins, I was always told that a high quality restaurant did not have salt and pepper on the table because everything was seasoned to perfection :-S

It's been horribly foggy/misty here today...........I really must find out where my fog light switch is :-D

Shame about Whitney Houston - great voice. We are just watching Bodyguard - it's one of OH's favourite films........... :-(

Many years ago I went to a VERY posh restaurant with my husband - paid for by his Company as a reward for something or other.

I had some white wine - I can't remember the details but after a sip, I could tell that it was 'corked' !!

I quietly called the waiter over and mentioned this and he loudly said something like 'Modam is obviously not accustomed to fine wines" - I equally loudly replied that 'Modam was very much able to recognise the taste and smell of a mouldy cork " !!.

He scuttled away with the bottle and came back with a much more palatable one!

How VERY rude Ginns !!!

Was that the 'Fawlty Towers' Restaurant by any chance?? - If not, you should 'name and shame' and find a site where you can post a review !!!

Such bad service deserves to be highlighted !

While out to dinner last night, I asked the waiter for salt & pepper (there was none on the table)

...............a filthy look appeared on his face and off he went, coming back with the pots, which he almost threw onto the table!

Not content with his little childish display, he came back later just to say 'chef seasons well madam'........then walks orf in a huff!

Chef may indeed 'season' well, but 'chef' was neither eating it, or paying for it....so get your head out of your a#se and deliver what the customer wants

Needless to say, we shall not be going back

IRISH DIET

An Irishman was terribly overweight, so his doctor put him on a diet.

'I want you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a day, then eat regularly again for 2 days then skip a day.
Repeat this procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see you, you should have lost at least 5 pounds.'

When the Irishman returned, he shocked the doctor by having lost nearly
60lbs!

'Why, that's amazing!' the doctor said, 'Did you follow my instructions?'

The Irishman nodded. 'I'll tell you though, by jaesuz, I t'aut I were going to drop dead on dat 3rd day.'

'From the hunger, you mean?' asked the doctor.

'No, from the feckin skipping'.
