Gird your loins .......................

anyone noticed the Announcement today????

-------------

"This weekend sees the return of Who Do You Think You Are? Live at Olympia in London. We will have lots of laptops available so that people attending the show can try out the site and gain access to the records, but one of the areas we are really keen to show off is the Genes Reunited boards and the amazing members we have.

To show how valuable the boards can be when researching your family history, we will be allowing people to post up their requests under this log in. We will then be encouraging them to log in on their home computers to see the replies they have received. We will only be making this feature available on one laptop to control the amount of requests posted.

We hope that this will show people unaware of the boards, just how useful they can be because of our amazing volunteer helpers. "

Just imagine the postings we might be in for :-D :-D :-D

I can only imagine the number of pm's C will be trying to send out to non-returning requesters

In Spain -- in order to continue to receive un employment payments --- every 6 months you have to work for the community you live in for 12 days

You have to report to your town hall where work is allocated to all --- it covers all the work done by council employees

The age/sex of the person is totally ignored -- on the basis work is work

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 21 Feb 2012 22:46

Gin stop reading the Socialist Worker it is seriously damaging your intelligence .

The principles of the scheme that you are on about are fine but I will agree that rather than benefit private companies it would be better if those who are encouraged to go on the scheme were utilised by local councils on projects to benefit the community as a whole rather than individual companies.

Just as it is right to expect a days pay for a days work it is wrong to expect to be paid for doing nothing. This country simply cannot afford to pay people who can work not to work. Simply allowing people to perpetually turn up at a Job Centre once every 2 weeks in order to sign on in order to receive a hand out from the tax payer is not going to solve anything longterm.

What would be your answer to the problem?

Gee

Gee Report 21 Feb 2012 22:16

Free labour....thats what our government is about.....since when was a days work, not woth a days pay

How roood Gins...And wot you mean??NOPE ??

You dont want my lovely little Hurricane??
He would certainly liven your place up...

I put the flags out and helped em pack when my lot went...Waved heartily, changed the locks and had a party"No kids invited"....B**gers send me their kids instead though dont they and I have to let them in cos I never could stand watching kids look miserable in the rain...Or having my door kicked by kids who want in..
:-D

Mr Jones...They make cordless phones now you know and have done for sometime...Do catch up with technology Bach...

No3 son phones me when he is in the bath very often...I have to listen to splashing water and him scrubbing his back....Dont you just love the male species of children...???

I should have stopped at none I think..Life would be much quieter thats for sure..

Mr H came back from his half term break early....So I was done out of 2 lie ins....Parents used excuses about why they had to bring him back early but I just said "TELL THE BUDDY TRUTH...YOU CANT COPE WITH THE SILLY O CLOCK WAKING and him waking twins and baby at silly o clock as well CAN YOU......OR HIS TANTRUMS?????(Which he rarely has here cos he knows what "or else" means now:D)....All went quiet for a while and then 2 quiet voices said"No we cant and we are kn**kered".

Got him to not waking us till 7.30am weekdays and 8am weekends now we have...So WHY CANT THEY...!!!

But he DID want to come home and had tantrums about................I want my Nanny and my Man and I want them NOW and sulked for England they said cos they wouldnt bring him earlier.

Memo to self
Must be an even NASTIER Nanny to make him want to stay away...

:-D

Happy hunting you lot...Byeeeeeeeee~~~~~~~~~~

we had a very high profie criminal court case here about 15 or 20 years ago.

A woman on the jury for a criminal case involving 2 gangsters developed a relationship with one of the accused DURING the trial :-0

The police were given a hint, and investigated the woman, including wire tapping landlines and cell phones ....................

....... she regularly took the phone with her when she went to the loo :-0 :-0

Some of those conversations were later used in court after she was charged ................. and replayed in court

Her name is still a by-word in this city :-D :-D

we'll have pancakes ......... with lemon and sugar ....... for dinner tonight

Have to make the batter in a little while .......... have gradually learnt over the last 5 or so years how to replace the milk with soy milk

The secret???

Use about 50-60% soy milk, and make up the rest with water.

Very closely approximates pancakes made with milk, and they are almost as light

We are having ours tom orrow Cynths - Lemon and sugar only for me too!

I didn't want to cook them today because grand-daughter was here and I knew that her daddy would be cooking them for her when I took her home.

She would not have been able to resist a couple here and then would have eaten more when she got home and probably made herself feel poorly so I decided to leave them until tomorrow.

Hubby is really looking forward to them.

Cynthia Report 21 Feb 2012 13:59

Nasty! How germy is that???? :-0

Our phone rang a couple of years ago and I couldn't make out what was going on. No one talking, just some background noise and the sound of running water!

A friend had inadvertently knocked the re-dial on his phone in his pocket.

I will leave the rest to your innocent imaginations.

Quite mild here today - Spring is on it's way.....yipee!! :-D :-D

Off to get the grandchildren soon......hoping OH has enough energy left to get the pancakes started - they love grandad's pancakes

..............so do I!

Gin,

It is known as Sods Law.

Here are 3 possible solutions:

a) Don't go to the loo. (Not very practical)

b) Have a telephone extension installed in the loo. (Better)

c) Take the phone off the hook before going to the loo.
