I wouldn't worry Sylvs......we've bin taken in by you fer years ;-)
In my account, I have not posted my married name and my maiden name is 'Thatwouldbetelling'. I changed it early last year after some advice on the boards.
Haven't been out today......the car is in for it's service. It was picked up at 8.15am and, at about 2.15pm we had a phone call to say that it had to have a new tyre and windscreen wipers but the main problem was that they couldn't move the driver's seat!!! :-S
Apparently, a new law came out in January stating that the driver's seat must be moveable. Oh dear. It won't pass it's MOT till they can fix it and they are really struggling. So, we are carless at the moment. Fortunately, we use a friend's garage and get first class service from them.
Just wondering what the bill will be like :-S

I got a VERY interesting response from GR this morning
Jonesy ..... I'm not sure that this RR'd post was on that thread, I honestly cannot remember which thread I posted it on.
--------------
I have checked our own records and I can see that when your post was removed we did fail to let you know. For that we apologise. I have re-read the thread and I can see that you were discussing the owners of our site. Whilst your comments were mostly positive towards us, we did feel that it was not necessary to discuss our current and previous owners in great detail. This is why we removed the post.
Your maiden name was included as this is the name you have added to the current surname field. This can be seen on the My Account page. I have now amended this to 'In Canada' for you.
Alternatively, on the My Account page you can opt to use your message board name for all communication through the site, rather than the name you have registered with.
-----------------------
Now .......
they apologise for not letting me know!!
it seems that we cannot say something which is a) easily found on google, and b) known to most long-time members.
OK ...... so be it!
HOWEVER, re the maiden name
I had clicked on the option to use my board name in ALL communications through this site ....... and it has been like that since very shortly after I joined in April 2004.
So they were wrong to use my maiden name.
PLEASE go into My Accounts and use check that you have chosen that option.
Needless to say, I have replied, telling them that I had done all that I could to protect my privacy, and they have breached it.

Just to make sure I got this right. You post on someone's thread. They disagree with you. They R&r it. GR send him a message saying it has been removed but reveal your full name. He then sends a copy to you. But you have not been notified so have no way of knowing how you have offended. :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| Very Worrying.

Dea,
A possible route to you discovering an answer to your birdseed dilemma.
Take a look at Friends Reunited to see if your old school shows up. If it does then look to see if any of your peers appear amongst its pupils. If they do perhaps they may know what the "Birdseed Pie" really was.
Sylv,
I believe that the Stephen_SG thread that has gone missing was the one entitled "Have You". Both you and I had contributed to the thread and both of us had said that in the light of the OP's obvious dissatisfaction with GR we were inclined to ask him why he was still a member. The last time I saw the thread was on Tuesday when I noted that one of the OP's posts on the thread had been referred for review (Not by me I might add).
From the message sent to him by GR (Shown in your earlier post on this thread) I would guess by their final comment, "As you will know" that it was GR rather than the OP who deleted the complete thread.

Lovely breakfast Sylvia and thanks for the 'school dinner' site.
There was something on there called 'date shortcake' which I though was promising but when I read the recipe it was obviously not the one.
Never mind, I can live without it - especially when your Caribbean Banana Fritters are on offer :-D :-D ;-)

I don't even know which thread it might have been on. I've posted in several places where he has posted over that last few weeks ....... sometimes on one of his threads, but also on other threads that he has contributed to.
I'm much more concerned about the release of my name.

It is strange about the surname
I thought if we had taken it off for pm's it did not exist anymore on here?
Any email I have had from GR is addressed to Jax Chan...which is'nt my name by the way :-D I would hate to think my real name Smith is being handed out to all and sundary
If it was on that thread, I cant see what you said that they would remove it anyway..
They should send you that standard email which shows what you said then direct you to the T&Cs...because you will have no idea where to find them :-D :-D
