Did you say butter Dea..........that is well off my diet :-(
Then I have Sylvs, tempting me with all this fab food, I dont eat that in a week!
Forgot to say, I lost another 1lb (1st 1lb) this week, so I'll stick to the fresh fruit thanks Syl. Hoping with no booze this weekend, I might actually lose more than a 1lb by next Thursday

easy in the microwave.......
a small dish with a bit of water (enough to just cover an egg) but don't put the egg in yet! I use small ramekin-type dishes (the same ones I use for creme caramel). I don't use vinegar.
put dish of water in microwave for about 20/30 seconds, carefully break the egg into the water....... then on MEDIUM for 20 seconds, then may two more 5 second until the egg is the way you like. No need for butter or breaking the yolk or covering the dish. Take the egg out of the water with a slotted spoon.
I've done poached eggs like this since I got my first microwave (about 30 years ago), haven't had a burst yolk yet.
I do have a "proper" 4-egg poacher, but it sits in the cupboard. Handy for when I need a small frypan with a lid :-D

Regarding addresses, BMD. burials, passenger lists etc ... ours might not be ideal but at least it all is free.
I don't like vinegar in the water of my poached egg.. I can taste the vinegar.. I always ask when we are out and invariably end up with scrambled. I have an egg poacher where they sit in their little cups with a bit of melted butter over the steaming hot water. Or in the microwave...grease a little bowl, break egg into it and then prick yolk with a toothpick and swirl the white around a bit with a tooth pick and cook it for 20 secs and then add 10secs or whatever until you have it like you want it. You have to prick it though or else it pops and splatters and ends up on the walls of the microwave..
Cyns you could separate a couple of eggs and just do the yolks and then make meringue with the whites. When I make meringue I use the yolks in custard or rice pudding. Very economical I is.
