Dea Report 3 May 2012 07:23

Well, I thank you for fighting through those nasty error messages to make us this lovely breakfast Persie <3

And, thank you for finding my trolley for me, I am going to need it to fit on all this lovely food.

How dare Cynthia use it as a cleaning trolley and then not even bother to tidy it up :-( :-0 :-(

I am going to have Bacon, baked beans, sausages, lamb chops, and a ham steak with savoury garlic mushrooms, sauteed potatoes and grilled tomatoes.

Then some cheese and crackers and a slice of pavlova

This is truly delicious.......... thank you <3 <3 <3

Is anyone else going to join me today?

This time I entered directly and I have had five error messages and then ended up at opening post took me ages to get back thought I had lost the plot and the brekkie...

Can't find anything.. a real little tidy up fairy..

Has to be quick... so there is

Bacon, baked beans, sausages, lamb chops, ham steaks, kidneys and kippers all on separate hot plates.

Then there is poached eggs, fried eggs or scrambled eggs in the serving dishes.

Grilled mushrooms, savoury garlic mushrooms, fried haloumi, sauteed potatoes and grilled tomatoes in the warmer.

There are warmed bread rolls, toast, bagels and croissants in the other warmer.

Cheeses, brie, Port Salut, stilton and Wensleydale in the fridge & Crackers in the cupboard.

Herbs and spices in the herb rack.. thyme and chives on the window sill in the little pots.

Basket of assorted muffins and scones and golden syrup pikelets.

Hawthorne Jelly, Feijoa Jam, lime marmalade and strawberry conserve plus vegemite and peanut butter.

I have put out some shortbread, butterfly cakes, and a pavlova for afters..

Drinks - smoothies, trim milk, juices.. tea and coffee.

Also for those on the run there are mousetraps..

Cyn,

I suppose that it is inevitable that so many "Alone and lonely" cases come up on HH. One of the cases today involved someone who lived a couple of miles away from where I live. It is indeed sad.

Gin,

It was once an idea of mine to spend my last years in the USA where it certainly used to be true that the overall cost of living was less than in the UK. Back in the 80's/90's and early 00's what you paid a £ for here only cost you a $ there meaning that money made in the UK and spent in the US theoretically would last you 40% longer. There is however a catch called US immigration law.

There was a time when "Aliens" living in the US without a permanent residency visa but with a multiple entry visa only had to pop over the US border to Canada, Mexico or similar for only 24 hours could then return to live in the US for another uninterrupted 6 months before repeating the procedure. Today they have to leave the North American continent once every 3 months which is both more inconvenient and costly.

I have a UK born retired friend who does not yet have permanent US residency rights. He has a house in Clarinda, Iowa which he has owned and lived in for the past 8 years. He now has to fly back to the UK for a week every 3 months so what he gains through a cheaper cost of living in the US has to be spent on air fare. At the moment he is financially and physically able to do that but maybe one day he may not be either so what then?

Other friends (Ex neighbours) of mine Austrian and British by birth settled in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. It took them over 5 years to obtain their "Green Cards" during which time they were obliged to make several runs across the US border.

Reckon Gins hasn't got long to go to retirement :-P

Busy, busy day-tomorrow and Friday :-(

That's retirement for you! :-D

Jonesey, isn't it sad how so many people on HH seem to be friendless and lonely? :-( This is what makes me think that many of them were on the autistic spectrum but had gone unrecognised.

My daughter is called one of the 'forgotten generation' so, those who are in their 70's now, were just left to their own sorry devices with no help or support. :-(

On a cheerier note..........it's been a lovely day.......had the grandchildren and they always make me happy. Such characters........dear oh dear :-D :-D

Cyn,

It is almost as if the needle has stuck on that "Discussions" thread. Same old same old over and over again. It is detracting from the original posters message/plea.

Off to watch this mornings edition of Heir Hunters. Will think of you thinking of me. ;-)

Wow.....thank you Persie.......erm.....hash browns and bacon and fried tomatoes and .....I could go on forever and a day!

I only just caught that bus - you didn't say it only once an hour Persie!

Have a feeling I will need a taxi home though cos I won't be able to move after all that food... :-D :-D

The 'discussions' debate continues and it's so wearying but I feel sorry for those who don't understand how the boards work. :-(

I do wish GR would listen to those who actually use the boards and then people wouldn't be led astray.

Nearly shower time..............see ya later ~~~~
