As the doctor said to the young lady he was examining, "Big breaths"

"Yeth and I'm only Thixteen", she replied.

May the fourth be with you too Cyn.

Helly Cynthia (and Ginns) <3 <3

I am having a lovely lazy day today - I am not even dresses yet :-D

We usually have little grandson on a Friday, which I love, but today 'hubby' is away in Lincolnshire with his golf team for a golf 'away day' - They get bacon butties on arrival, soup and sarnies for lunch and a nice meal at the end of the day and play lots of golf inbetween.

SO, nothing for me to HAVE to do all day :-) :-) :-)

I DO have lots I should be doing but I will decide 'IF' and 'WHEN' I do any of it.

I will really miss having my grandson though but I really cannot 'manage him' on my own - He is a lovely boy but such hard work and I just can't run around after him and keep him safe without help.

Never mind, we will have him back again to enjoy next week.

P.S. - I think I will go and get washed and dressed now - can't sit here in my jimmy-jams all day ............can I ??

Thank you Persie Xxx

As a reward for that, I will give you a site where you can post in the long link and it gives you a 'little short' one - I don't know how it does it or why the little one works, but it does :-D :-D :-D

The site is:

http://goo.gl/

and if you post 'your' long one in it will convert it to:

http://goo.gl/vTVlm

Isn't it clever ????? - I find this really fascinating every time I use it - It's like 'real magic' to people like me who haven't got a clue about these things.

Another early morning and the physio came right on time....... :-D

Lots of paperwork to start with and then some exercise advice. Very nice young woman who will take OH under her wing. It's always pleasing to know that there are such helpful people around.

Hopefully out to lunch and then.........................nuffink :-D :-D

Persephone Report 4 May 2012 09:58

Dea... I googled

Thorkel Hansen Married Alice Nottingham

and the rootschat thread came up..

I am never sure where to shorten the link..

Dea Report 4 May 2012 09:51

Yes they were Persie - can you post me a link please?

As I said, don't spend too much time on this as I have asked the poster for more details and I am sure she will respond but you know how impatient I can be so I was just going to have a little look around while I was waiting.

I do believe she knows about the NZ side but is trying to trace back through the mother in England where I am having a 'little' difficulty finding details that I can be certain of before her marriage to William.

Thanks Persie,

Dea Xxx

Persephone Report 4 May 2012 09:44

just saw on roots chat about Thorkel and Alice.. were her parents William and Sarah?

Persephone

Persephone Report 4 May 2012 09:40

there is a marriage for an Alice Nottingham in 1881 to Thorkel Hansen...

and there is an Ellen Nottingham married 1900 to Joseph Alexander..

I take it there were no middle names..

Dea

Dea Report 4 May 2012 09:31

Thank you Persie,

I am helping on a thread and she mentions that her great grandmother Alice Nottingham was sent to NZ aged 16.

If I have the correct one then this would have been around 1880. - she certainly doesn't seem to appear on 1881 census.

Her sister Ellen, born c 1859 is also missing and I wondered if she might have gone too?

I would be interested to see what info was given on the details of Alice's arrival.

Don't spend too much time on this just now as I don't know what info the poster already has on her life in NZ but I just wanted to see if there was somewhere I could look to view the details?

Thanks Persie,

Dea Xxx
