Hi all
xxx

teef all cleaned and polished, and no work needed. Back in 6 months.

Other check-up fine :-D

BUT ........... he did spot that I hadn't any blood work done "for him" last autumn. So he gave me a requisition to go and have several vials of blood removed :-( . One is the fasting for 10 hours one ............. which means I actually have to get up early and get out to the clinic for about 8:30 - 9:00 am sometime early next week :-0

I'll try to find a morning when OH can at least take me by car :-D

C ....... that must have been a shock for you!

good news for you Linda and for you Dea.

Cynthia
several ways to check intra ocular pressures.

Goldman is mounted on a table and drops and dye put in eye and a probe makes contact with the eye.

Perkins is hand held but also comes close to the eye.

These are the gold standard methods.

I care tonometer is very good for people who find it difficult to stay still such as people with parkinsons or learning disabilities as it does not come so close to the eye.

All of these used in combination with a pachymeter that measures the thickness of the cornea is even better. If a cornea is thinner than average then pressures can under read and glaucoma could be missed.

The airpuff is the least accurate as it makes people jump which affects the accuracy of the reading,

Dea

Dea Report 10 May 2012 21:06

Can't you decide on a 'time slot' to suit you Ginns and say that it will run from ??? to ???

Then say - "send apologies if you can't make it and I will pass them on "
