Of cabbages and kings:
Wills: I usually update mine every couple of years or so as things and attitudes change constantly. Just about to update again to include great grandchildren, something I never expected to have to do.
On the same subject Ancestry has just extended the date range of their Probate Calendar database. It is now possible to search from 1858 to 1966.
Garage doors: Yesterdays posts reminded me of something I found amusing at the time. Some years ago one of my neighbours who was an engineer working on telephone exchanges for the GPO decided to motorise his hinged garage doors. This was before the days of infra red remote controls so he installed a timer. He initially set to open the doors at about 7:30am, close them at 8:00am, open them again at 5:30pm and close them at 6:30pm. These times coincided with when he left for and returned from work.
Everything worked perfectly during the first few weekdays but he discovered the flaw in the system on the first Saturday, when after having a bit of a lie in he wasn't then able to get his car out of the garage until teatime.

Talk to your Macmillan nurse .............. you should have been given one. OR one of the nurses at the chemo place. As soon as you possibly can, so that you can plan.
I have never had chemo or radiation myself, nor has OH, but I did spend about 5 years as a "shoulder" on an internet help for people undergoing chemo and radiation for cancer ........... and picked up a lot of patient to patient advice and help.
NO medical advice or help was given .......... just patient-found ways of dealing with it, and support.
Most of the people that I know personally, in real life, who have had chemo seem to find that about 1-2 days after the chemo is OK, then they start to react, and seem to be unable to work for about 10-14 days.
It does all depend on the drugs being given, AND on the strength of them, and of course on an individual's own reaction
.......... OH's cousin found she was much better on one sequence of drugs that she had for 3 months, than on the ones she was given the next 3 months.
Do get in some pineapple ......... fresh or unsweetened canned. Most people seem to find that they end up with a metallic taste in their mouth, and the pineapple helps to take that away.

It is 2 weeks on and 1 week off..
They have not given a clear answer to work.
Locums are expensive.
People keep saying they only want to be seen by him.
Locums do no not do home visits either.

Hi LK
well, that is the next 6 months planned out
They certainly are playing safe.
Can you ask for a second opinion??
Now you can spend time during that period working out what you are going to do for the rest of your life :-D <3
What is the schedule ................... is it one treatment every 3 weeks, or is it something like 1 week of treatments and 3 off?
You probably realise that R will not be up to working for much of the time ....... at least, if my experience with other friends is anything to go by.
Can you employ a locum for 6-8 months?
love to you all <3 <3 <3 <3

Chemo will start in around 2 weeks and last for 6 months. A bit drastic for something supposedly already cleared.
Lots of uncertainty about how we will cope both as a family and as a family business.
Jonesey I never click on chat messages or links that are out of character or out of context.. I have one appeared today from a farmville friend and it is not someone who I would normally talk to. I will not be clicking on it. It said you (me) are one of his top stalkers. Out of context. Thanks for the warning as it is always good to be reminded.

Get a 'proper one' and have it moved when you have the extension built !!
Cheaper in the long run !!
