You seem to have really enjoyed the event Cynthia - SO pleased for you !!

I had a little chuckle today also - more trauma because DIL's car has 'broken' so they are struggling even more than before but grand-daughter insisted that the gear box had disappeared !! - She INSISTED that mummy told her that the gear box had 'gone' - i.e. disappeared !! - I tried to explain to her that it meant that it was broken but she kept telling me that it has 'disappeared' because mummy said !! :-D :-D

Just wish that grandpa would wake up !!

Am all jubilee'ed out :-D :-D

Have really enjoyed all the celebrations but sad that Prince Philip couldn't be with her today. She must have missed him badly. :-(

Will have to catch up with housework tomorrow............ :-D

The RR'ing thing seems to be getting out of hand......staying well away!

I had a sore knuckle last night so thought I would take my engagement ring off as it felt quite tight. The wedding ring still has some movement. Arrrrrgggghhhhh it wouldn't come off.....stuck......no matter what I tried.

In the end, OH fetched his pliers and cut the ring off. I'll take it into town to have it made larger. I also took my wedding ring off to give my knuckle a change to recover but it feels odd to be 'ringless'. :-S

Is pole turning a euphemism for pole dancing?

Well great to see you all toilet trained ;-)

I went to Hever Castle yesterday.

Very pretty.

As well as being the childhood home of Ann Boleyn, the castle was given to Ann of Cleves after Henry divorced her.
Later the castle was owned by the Astor family and renovated sympathetically in a style suitable for 1900's but reminiscent of Tudor times.
It was sometimes difficult to know what was original and what was added later.

In the grounds were Tudor craftsmen carrying out their trades and explaining Tudor lifestyle. One of them was a friend of OH from his wood turning forum.

Thre were leather sellers, a potter. a pewter maker etc.

OH's friend was demonstrating pole turning and making wooden porringers and plates like those found on the Mary Rose.Apparently the ordinary person would eat standing

A really pleasant day.

Cheesy potato patties with some beans........yum yum, thanks Sylvs
:-D

We had those loos in the city centre back in the late 90s, they didnt last long after lots of complaints about either: getting locked in, locked out, sprayed with the sanitiser or the door opening when people were 'part way' through :-0

Can you imagine.......caught in a busy city centre with yer kegs round yer ankles!

we have 8 similar ones to that around town ................ except in our case, you have 12 minutes, or the door unlocks automatically

Then the door locks itself after a person leaves

.............. and the whole place is sprayed with water and disinfectant before it is used again.

However, the locks malfunction, and one person has found himself and was stuck inside for around 45 minutes before a city crew arrived with a crowbar and got him out ............... :-D :-D

Good job he had a cell phone with him

Persephone Report 5 Jun 2012 05:07

Gins were you trying to twink your screen again and got it all over your face?

On the subject of toilets... one that I visited here... as I opened the door this chap says welcome and told me I was allowed to stay there 10 mins at most and then the door unlocks automatically ....... elevator type music is played.

There is a hand basin in there and when you wash your hands the toilet flushes and then when you leave the same chap says thank you....

now this is all very well but if you go in there with two small children and one gets off the loo and the other one gets on.. the second one gets a wet backside whilst the other one is washing his hands.. Little miss did not find it funny.. and it won't flush a second time.. ... they really have not thought it through..
