OOOhhh Cynthia - 'knock it orff' !!!

I think it must be because you are SO nice and patient and wonderful and caring in real life that you take the opportunity on here to be so 'catty' !! ;-) :-D :-D

Anyway, we know you don't mean it really - it is just an 'escape' and we forgive you !

Revenge is a dish served cold...Or in most of your cases I think I shall wait until you are all FROZEN....

My woes carry on as usual.

Nope,mail still blocked.

We left home this morn and had a puncture half an hour later...Grrrrrrrr.
B$%^^&&dy £47.50p for a new tyre when we got here cos that one could not be mended easily and the wall was a bit rough as we was on FAST road when it happened.

BIG Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

The bride and groom beggered orf in different directions when we got here at 4pm and so far only the groom has returned...4 kids plus one other from the best man dumped on us....

Only little one age 1 in bed so far.

And more peeps on the way from London here(one I dont like too)and THEY have been given OUR normal sleeping space so HID and I are on blow up mattress in kitchen /diner......

I am now off to find that valium I have stashed in my bag...

OR I am about to SCReeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaammm and be VERY Nasty Nanny/Mother/Mother in law any minute... :-P :-P :-P

Dea

your story of granddaughter going to Brownie camp reminded me of a long-forgotten story.

I went to camp when I was still in primary school. I can't remember where we went, except I think it was somewhere on the south-eastern side.

I do remember we slept in cabins, which looked rather like what I later saw described as bath chalets. They were placed behind sand dunes, and there was quite a narrow path between the dunes to the beach.

I can't remember whether there was only 1 class or 2 classes involved, but there much have been about 25 of us, and 3 or 4 adults

Two things stick out in my memory .......... one, walking along that path to the dunes and falling onto some buried barbed wire, which ripped a 5-6" gash in my leg.

And, two, rinsing out some white socks, putting them outside the chalet to dry ...... only to have them replaced by a very old tatty pair. Boy, was Mum upset when I got home! Mine had been brand new for the trip.

This must have happened when I was about 8 or 9 ................ 3 years or so after the war had ended, and after all the barbed wire that had guarded beaches around the coastline from invasion had been removed

Except for the bit I found!!.

Jonesey Report 22 Jun 2012 19:27

Cyn,

I agree, our central heating has also been on all day.

Mrs J insists on having the windows wide open and last night was buddy cold in bed. I got up at 6:00am but resisted the temptation to switch on the CH but when Mrs J rose at 8:15am she put it on straight away.

Let's hope it improves!
