Hello Dea.....(((hugs))) all better now?

I've been looking through Rootsweb after DET told us about the MCA records being transcribed on there - so that's where I've been AND...got a visitor coming in a minute......

Meanwhile, when I went to you-know-where this morning, I parked the car and was crossing the road to avoid a cyclist who was coming towards me. He had his dog on a lead for exercise.

I thought nothing of it until he spoke to me......with a startled glance, I realised it was the senior GP from the practice we go to!!! We had a chat about this and that and went our separate ways. How nice to think that he actually recognised me (I don't go to him very often) and that he was willing to stop and hold a conversation with me. :-D

Gotta go now.......but I'll be back Dea....... <3

That may save a lot of time and eye-rolling when doing look ups.

sunny, then cloudy, then downpour by mid afternoon

Much flooding in BC ................. high snowfall now melting, and heavy rains are combining.

We'll be OK, no problems at all. But there are some areas here in the delta that are under threat. And it gets worse as you go further upstream.

Hi Det. Thanks for that info about MCA - I do enjoy going through it but it can be long winded as Dea says. Must admit though, I do love looking at the old writing and odd notes which have been added.

I was tracking part of my Medway family and came across a baptism which read something like : This child is not the son of xxxxx his father is xxxxxxx.....!!! tuts.

I always ask, Jonesey and they usually come back with a similar offer. Definitely worth a call.

Doubt we will hear anything about the wedding until tomorrow or Monday. Our Fans will be fair worn out.........bless.. ;-)

Nearly bedtime but am just going to change my avatar.......night all~~

Good idea with the wallpaper Linds, I would have the same thing.

A tip for those interested.

Ancestry notified me almost a month ago that my subscription was due to run out on 25/6/12. No need for action as they would take the renewal fee from the bank card I lodged with them. The email said if I would like to discuss my membership to give them a call so I did on Friday evening.

Very politely I said that FMP offered their existing subscribers a 10% loyalty discount and noted that this used to be a 20% discount but had been reduced when FMP cut the cost of membership, could Ancestry offer me something similar?

The nice young man in Utah that I spoke to said that at the moment Ancestry had no "Special deals" but if I was happy to hang on he would check to see if anything could be arranged. I certainly didn't mind hanging on as it was a free 0800 number.

He came back to me in no more than 2 minutes and said that he had been authorised to offer me 25% discount if I would remain a member and renew. I accepted the terms gratefully.

If you don't ask, you don't get. Certainly worth a free phone call.

Can I stick a pennies worth in? ;-)

Freereg are transcribing the Medway City Ark records. if the event is listed (not everything is transcribed yet ) it's a handy way to narrow your search amongst the original images :-)
