("it" being any search, filling in documents, etc etc)

Mornin~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are very organised Sylvs, havent even thought about a break for the summer yet!
Last night, Im watching 'the house that the 50s built' and could hear huffing and puffing from the desktop
JB is trying to complete No2 sons student loan info for uni this Sept...all I could hear was......which button now, has it accepted the details, this is daft etc etc...they want to know your blood pressure and waist measurement
Me to the rescue......why do 'men' make it such hard work....follow the instructions, thats all you have to do!
Girl Power :-D

I spent a lot of time on the phone this morning ............ booking the trains for our trip back east ay Christmas-time.
We had coupons that gave us 50% off 2 of the 3 sections ............. and our travel agent could not therefore do the booking for us.
I got it all done, and so we are set.
We do have to spend a night in Montreal on the way over, as there have been some cut-backs in train service. There were 6 trains a week from Montreal to the Maritime, now there are only 3. It means that we arrive over there 1 day later than originally planned.
But I managed to get a really good price on a room in one of the best hotels in Montreal ....................... and it is 2 floors above the train station (which is underground). So we won't even have to put our noses out the doors if the weather is bitterly cold :-D
very pleased with myself :-D :-D :-D

OH is cleaning the carpets with the Hoover steam cleaner.
He did 2 rooms, and they look really good, and much brighter
Then he did the 3rd room (our bedroom) ............... and discovered the cleaner wasn't working properly.
Had, in fact, not been working properly since he began
Seemingly it was putting out the cleaner, but it wasn't sucking up the dirty water
Yet the carpets were not soaking ..................... they were just damp, and dried within 4 or 5 hours.
Great puzzlement!
He starts on a dirtier carpet tomorrow (Friday) ............. hopefully he has now solved the problem of which bit was not connected to its 'mate" when he put it all together last week.

Stick yer bedroom photos on the dark side Linds............just the room mind ;-)
|
|
Gins - lol my OH takes 4 days to do one room :-|
he just goes and starts scraping paper doesnt clear the room etc so then I have to never mind our bedroom is finished and its lovely :-D
He then decides to touch up the hall and living room - only problem is cant find any of the paint so is now thinking he will just re-do them!!!
Hence we will have to go and get more paint and yes it feels like the Forth Bridge :-(
We are also having a good old clear out of the garage and hut and if I have survived that then the loft is next :-(
|
|
What are you painting Linds.....the forth bridge! You must live in a mansion ;-)
|
|
Keep going Linds, you'll soon be finished :-D
We occasionally have some rain through but it's only when the rain is coming at an angle. Very strange.
Have posted some wedding pics from 29.6.68 on the dark side. Please feel free to laugh! :-D :-D
Must go before my head falls onto the keyboard.......zzzzzzz

Hope everyone is ok and survived that horrible weather :-)
We were luckier in that we only had a downpour.
Still painting :-(
|
|
Problems with yer flashins cause problems with yer water works :-0
Still, at least we live on a hill and will never get flooded
|
|
Hi Cynths - Yes - we are O.K. thanks !! :-D - Just taken grand-daughter home!
Her school playgrounds were flooded and no-one was allowed out all day untill the water had gone down - it was apparently well above the level of her knees ?? (I am not sure how true that was ;-) :-D)
I have never seen anything like that though! - Giant hail stones, torrential driving rain, floods everywhere !!
Hubby said that all the shops in town were flooded and staff were trying to sweep out the water and they had to get pumps brought in to get rid of it !
Some roads and roundabouts were closed off on the way home as brooks had overflowed making it impossible to drive through them.
It all happened so quickly!
Hubby dived into the nearest 'Hostelry' when it all went black and sat and had a drink until 'the lights came on again' and he could get home ;-)
My bay window also flooded inside Ginns - I can't work out how the water got in though as it was all dry inside on ceiling, walls and window frames except there were huge deep puddles of water inside :-S
Just going to 'unwind' with the Archers - see you all later,

I'm sorry to hear that Gins has a flashing problem!! :-S
Surely there's some treatment available for the poor dear...... ;-)
It poured her at about 11.15am....and yes, I was out in it - fortunately, under a large brolly.
Haven't heard from Dea since she saw the hurricane approaching - hope she is okay. :-S :-S
|
|
Gin,
A water feature in the front room, how decadent. ;-)
According to the local news, here in the West Midlands we had approximately one third of our normal June Rainfall between 10:00am and 11:00am this morning.
|
|
Well, that last blast of bucket rain and hail.............I had half of it in my bay window
It started pouring through the ceiling onto the sofa. I must have a flashing problem :-S
Rang Paul (Friday gang) and he's on his way to the airport to drop Caz off for Australia......hurry up Paul :-0 :-0 :-0
I have buckets and pans at the ready for the next lot......just hope its not in the dead of night when Im fast alseep or there will be a claim on the insruance
|
|
Well, It's 'nite nite time' here !!!
It is PITCH black and the rain is coming down in torrents !!!!!!!!!!
Thunderbolts and lightning are about but not quite here yet :-0
I have NEVER seen rain as heavy as this before - it is lashing past the window as the bind blows it past and it is like a thick fog!!!
Hubby has gone out to town on the bus in shorts and a t-shirt :-D :-D :-D :-
Might have to switch the computer off for a while as the storm is getting nearer......................
Now THIS is NOT a 'British' Storm................ I have seen Hurricanes in far-off contries and this is certainly reaching that level.
