I didn't say the gauge spoke to me you daft 'apporth....I said the garage chap.........sigh.......

So we's equals Sylvs :-D

I'm doing a very similar sort of thing and I am drinking more water and very rarely touch a fizzy drink now.

The pedometer I was given has been the incentive I needed re exercise as I find I am deliberately trying to exceed the previous days' score! It doesn't always work but it certainly helps.

I guess you're right about people being on holiday and folk having other things to do rather than look for long lost ancestors...... :-S

I don't have the grandchildren this week so am at a bit of a loss but I'm sure I will find something to do :-D

In fact, it's my friend's birthday on Wedneday so I am taking her out to lunch and then her local son is coming with his family for tea. I have said I will try and leave some balloons around etc ., so that the little ones think it's a 'real' party :-D

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Jul 2012 19:59

there are new posters around ...........

and of course this is Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, so people are presumably on holidays etc. ......... despite the weather!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Jul 2012 19:58

I've lost 7 lbs in about 3 weeks .......

.......... just by cutting out added sugar, using sugar-free or sugar-reduced cereals, bread, etc, adding more veggies and fruits, and cutting the size of the meat portion

and walking 10 minutes 3 or 4 times a week .......... I must try to increase that to 5 times a week.

:-D :-D :-D

I didnt know that tyre gauges spoke to you!

My car talks to me when stuff is wrong....with the car that is ;-)

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 9 Jul 2012 13:32

If you read things properly Gins, you would see that I didn't have time to think of Jonesey - I finally cottoned on to what you meant!

Well, I am rather pleased with myself. I've lost 7lbs in a month without crash dieting or drastic changes :-D

On the way home, I went to get the tyre pressure checked and the garage chap said I needed a new tyre.... :-(

Oh, the ups and downs of life...... :-D

Off to Liverpool shortly.................

Gee

Gee Report 9 Jul 2012 09:30

Mornin.........................I bet Cyns is thinking about Jonesey ;-)

Well - I'm here at last !!!

I have been on here for nearly an hour now but have only just managed to get to that lovely breakfast - I am starving !!! :-0

I don't know if it is the site or just me but everything keeps freezing and I have had to restart IE 5 or 6 times so far!

Hope it doesn't continue like this all day !

Good morning everyone :-D

It's so grey and wet here this morning :-( I wonder if we will ever have a summer??? :-S

Thank you Sylvs. Just something light I think. Am off to see my 'health trainer' at 10am, so I hope she is pleased with me.......... :-S

I watched most of the tennis and, although I felt sorry for Murray, Federer was great. I suspect that AM has Asperger's-lots of tell tale traits with him.

LK, I've heard that Spiderman is very good and am waiting to see if my son and his family show an interest. Mind you, you know me, give me a good old whodunnit anytime!

Also off to Liverpool this afternoon cos it's time for OH's appointment with his consultant........ :-( deep breath and move on. ~~~~~~

BUT

did anyone notice that 2 Canadian youngsters cleaned up the Junior Titles???

Filip Peliwo from Vancouver won the Junior Boys earlier today

Eugenie Bouchard from Quebec won the Girls yesterday, and the Girls doubles today

Add the slightly older Milos Raonic and Victor Pospisil to them, and we have a bright future.

SHOULD have a bright future!!
