Gins

"large" eggs have always been quite small here, so we used to buy Very Large, or Extra Large

now we buy Jumbo

but we buy boxes of 12

SylviaInCanada Report 20 Jul 2012 21:16

we took both our computers into the Go Go Geek "hospital on Wednesday.

4 hours later, we had them both back and hooked up. Adobe upgraded (both OH and I wee having trouble with that), and "workings" checked for "nasties".

Nothing serious was found ........... which says a lot of AVG as it is about 18 months since we last had the 'puters sorted out.

Even better, the "doctor" said my 'puter was in good shape, then changed it to "excellent shape" when I told him it dated back to 2003 :-D

He said no need to change it or update as long as it was working as well, and as long as I kept the software updated.

C .......................... one of the reasons for taking them in was because they were beginning to run slow.

The kids left soon after 8:30 am ........... they had reservations on the 10:15 am ferry, which meant they had to be at the terminal no later than 9:45.

It is only about 30 minutes away ......... but there is a tunnel under the Fraser River on the way, and that is reduced to 1 lane going south during the morning rush hour, and an "oopsie" can close the tunnel, so you need time to adjust your route just in case.

OH and I are both looking forward to some quiet ....... there has been a LOT of stress over the last few days.

Tornado is super though!

Well, of course, if one is used to shopping at, say, Harrods.......then of course, DunEMill would not appeal.

For us lesser mortals however, I think it's brill! :-P

I've had another day where I don't know if I am coming or going! Not physically, but on the puter. Both are on go slow - I've checked AVG etc.etc. but I have a feeling there is so much junk on them that they are complaining! Of course, when they are like this, I have three friends from the past who want to catch up and see photos etc.etc.etc........aaarrgghh

I am going to play a game to calm my frazzled nerves.

Linds - talking about the price of tyres - you know 'nuffink' !!

Several years ago I had a part time job - part of it involved checking and authorising invoices ...........

I got to one which was for over £1000 and it was for 2 tyres !!!!!!!!!!!

I , of course, queried this but apparently it was all O.K. - it was for 2 tyres on one of the MD's Ferrari's ...................... ;-) :-D :-D

Apparently quite a good price ! :-0

Dea - thats the kind of thing that would happen to me :-D

Gins - Never used microwave poachers. I used to put the egg into a soup bowl prick the yolk with a fork pour some boiling water over, cover with clingfilm and voila!

Much easier now to use the poachers :-D

LK glad she is recovering from the mugging shame about GD's sports day.
Happy Anniversary for Sunday how long have u been married is it one of "the" big ones?

Hi all. It has been a very busy week.

Daughter is recovering from her mugging.

She is just angry that people do this sort of thing.

She took annual leave yesterday for granddaughter's sportsday but it was rained off.

It is her birthday today so she is going out tomorrow night.

In the meantime I worked yesterday's late night clinic and today I worked overtime.

Working again tomorrow then our anniversary on Sunday.

If you buy those plastic egg poachers Ginns - make sure that you oil them VERY well 'coz the eggs will stick if not !!

Otherwise, they are quite O.K. but 'fiddly'

They are quite good really !

I have to say that I once bought some pillows from there - they were marked as (something like) 'hypo-allergic' - suitable for hospitals etc etc!.

It was also stated that you could not return pillows - fair enough !!

However, I used them for one night and my face was covered in an allergy rash when I woke up! - It was New Years Eve morning and I was supposed to be going out to a Party that night - Couldn't go as it would have been too embarrasing with a red itchy blotchy face!

However, I did take them back the following day and they did accept them and give me a refund!

They sent them for analysis but we never did sort out what had happened - I was obviously one of the VERY few people who was allergic to the special coating on them :-D :-D

I don't get there very often but sometimes they have some good stuff!

Very 'hit and miss' really.
