Linda

I have sent a PM to the person who has them on their tree here :-)

Jonesey Report 25 Jul 2012 21:38

Those 3 are the only Kilfeather's in the tree. The tree is unsourced. Theresa maiden name McGoldrick B 1840 UK, D 1907 Andersontown, Glasgow.

Cyn,

I watched Heir Hunters this morning and agree with your comments. Perhaps the refusal to sign up with F & F had something to do with the fact that they charge up to 40% of the beneficiaries entitlement to act on the beneficiaries behalf.

I have only ever benefited from one persons will, my great aunt Fanny's. Being a childless widow she left a tiered will leaving different amounts to each of her surviving siblings, their children (Her nephews and nieces) and their children which is where I came in. She left each of my generation 20Guineas. My mother's generation each got 100Guineas and the residue of her estate was split equally between her siblings.

Because my mother and I were estranged when she died she did not include me amongst the beneficiaries of her estate in her will which was fair enough as far as I was concerned. In actual fact I did not even know that she had died in 2003 until I got interested in Genealogy some 5 years after her death.

I must confess that after becoming interested in Heir Hunters I did once check at the probate office to see whether an uncle who I knew had died a widower without issue (As they say on the programme) a long way from where he was born, raised and lived most of his life, had left a will. He had, leaving the bulk of his estate to a member of his deceased wife's family with the proviso that she took care of any pets that he owned at the time of his death. A nice touch I thought.

Sounds like a lovely evening Sylvs............ :-D

It took some shifting to get Gins off the recliner I can tell you!

Anyone watch Heir Hunters this morning? I had it on whilst I was pottering around the bedrooms. Whilst I enjoy it, I do wish the presenter wouldn't keep harping on about.....Are YOU entitled to a fortune........Drag the money back from the government. I can't be the only one who doesn't watch it for the possibility of financial gain....I just love the chase.

Mind you, I felt sorry for the firm this morning......they did all the hard work in tracing the person's family and, when they found one of the two only beneficiaries, who had no idea of the deceased's existence, he dumped the firm and decided to submit a claim himself. Some people are just plain...............greedy.

Dea we had the fan on in the bedroom last night was really clammy and its been warm and sunny today :-D

Son and GF home with no washing other than the clothes they travelled in so no washing (typical when it could be dried outdoors)

He got a call from the drummer in the band he fell down the stairs in his house this morning and wanted a lift to hospital where he is now waiting for an x-ray to see if his ankle is broken.

His wife and kids are home from Italy tonight so son has to go to airport late tonight to pick them up.

:-( :-( :-( :-0 :-(
