I take it that it didnt hit anything or you wouldnt have been in a fit state to post anything on here for quite some time ;-)

Sorry, I can;t come out to play, I'm in the dog house (Again).

Just after the post I made at 1:14pm, to save clearing the snow off my own car since the last time I used it was last Thursday before the snow fell I borrowed Mrs J's car to nip to a local shop for some fags. She has a 2 wheel drive. She has been out a couple of times yesterday and had left it parked sideways at the end of our sloping drive so as not to struggle through the snow whilst getting it up the slope. When I came back I parked it in its usual position at the top of the drive in front of the house.

I had been in the house for less than 10 minutes when the dogs suddenly started barking as there was someone at the front door. Mrs J answered it and suddenly screeched out my name. When I went to the door I saw why she was somewhat agitated. Her car wasn't where I had left it but was in the middle of the road blocking traffic in both directions. It had slid down the drive on the snow.

I may be confined to barracks on bread and water for some time but at least i've got some fags. ;-)

Chelsea tractors do have their uses. :-D

I have owned one for many years and I have done similar on several occasions.

4x4's are great in these conditions but if you don't push 2 wheeled drive vehicles out of your way when they are in it you may as well be driving a 2 wheeled vehicle yourself. ;-)

Looking out the window, I see a little peugeot struggling up the road, right behind him, about an inch away, a 4x4

I thought, HOW CLOSE, only to see the 4x4 make contact with the car and start pushing him up the road!

Up early because my decorator phoned last night to say he could come earlier than he thought because his next job has been held up because of the weather. It's not a major job here, simply some freshening up which needs to be done. :-D


Yes, I do have some lovely neighbours. We're not in and out of each other's houses but we all know that we will help each other out when needed.


Must go, have to go to daughter's as well. ~~~~

2 eggs any style, 2 buttermilk pancakes, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice of ham, toast

Turkey sausages, 2 eggs any style, hash browns, toast


Chicken Karage (Japanese deep fried chicken pieces)

stirfry (chicken, beef, or vegetarian),

vegetable samosa

Beef Burger, on toasted Kaiser roll, with sliced tomato, lettuce, onion and mayonnaise

Cheese burger, with onion rings, mushrooms, lettuce and tomato


home-fried potatoes with garlic and bacon


lemon and nut muffins,
rhubarb and strawberry muffins,
raisin bran muffins,
morning glory muffins,
crunchy-top blueberry muffins,


jams, jellies, marmalades, Nutella (hazelnut spread)


Tea, coffee, juices

Clearing, roads, drives, cars, pushing cars to help

In fact, you look rather 'flushed'.....hahahahah hic....hahahaha :-D :-D



I looked out of the window this afternoon and could see my elderly neighbour brushing the snow off his car. The I saw the chap from across the road helping him. "How nice" I thought.

A few minutes later, I couldn't see them but could hear them.... :-S

When I stood up and moved round, there were the two of them plus the young woman from next door but one, all clearing MY car and drive....... :-)

Wasn't that just lovely of them? :-D I went out to thank them naturally...... :-)

it's really very simple .......................


Use the environmental Save Water, as practised in California for at least the last 25 years ..................

If its yellow
let it mellow
if it's brown
flush it down


Keep a bucket in the bathroom, filled with water. Use that to flush it down.




we are soooooooooooooooooo loving being back to 2 full bathrooms after sharing 1 bathroom with J&M over Christmas, and then the visitors here last week :-D :-D :-D :-D

Forced to live in a house with only one loo. :-0

Only having your bins emptied once every two weeks. :-0

Roads left ungritted and obliged to clear your own drive and buy your own salt from Tesco. :-0

I knew things were a bit tight oop norf but I had no idea that they were that bad. :-0

Can't you have a word with that nice Mr Clegg who I believe represents you at Westminster to see if he can get anything done to assist you. According to reports in the newspapers he sees himself as a bit of a champion of the poor and the oppressed. :-D
