Cyn,

I will gladly do your pile of yesterdays ironing for you in return for you trying to help Mrs J complete her self assessment income tax form by Thursday. I'm currently up to my neck in a sea of invoices, receipts, payment slips, bank statements and assorted bits of paper. :-S

I have never encountered anyone with such a haphazard accounting system and such an illogical filing system. If I'm not carted off to a home for those left bereft of their mental faculties by the end of the week it will be a complete miracle. :-|

It just goes to show that we can talk about almost anything on here...... ;-)

Good morning.... :-D

Thank you Sylvs.....toast for me I think......maybe try a new bread.

I'm surprised that we seem to be ahead of you re rubbish disposal actually..... :-S

We have 3 large bins (general, plastic/glass, food waste/garden waste) and a medium sized bin for cardboard and paper.

We have had a small grey 'food' counter top box for ages. I was dubious at first but now think it's great. We were given specially recyclable bags to line the box and all food waste - apart from yoghurts and liquid-y foods - goes into it.

When it is nearly full, it is neatly tied and dropped into the foodwaste bin outside. Easypeasy and it certainly stops our kitchen bin from getting messed up.

We have some sort of bin collection each week - we have a list to say which bin goes out when.

Good grief......this is all Gins fault...........bins at breakfast....... :-S

re bin collection

We have 2 big wheelie bins, one for garbage and one for garden waste and compost.

Plus we have a blue box with a yellow bag and a blue bag for recyclables.

Currently, garbage and recycle are collected every week, and garden waste and compost bin is collected every 2 weeks.

We got a letter from the Mayor lat week, telling us that as of some date this spring, garbage will be collected every 2 weeks, and recycle and garden waste/compost will be collected every week.

PLUS we are to get a small (???) box to keep on our kitchen counter in which to collect food waste.

"Compost" will now include all food waste (cooked and uncooked), and papers used for wrapping food.

so now you know .................

.......... ad aren't you glad that I told you? :-D :-D :-D :-D

I forgot to say yesterday..

Our blue bins should have been collected last Monday but due to the snow, the collection was cancelled

We left the bins at the bottom of the drive all week but went to bring them back up yesterday morning because today is black bin day

Guess what....they had been emptied! They were full on Saturday night because we put some jars in before we went out

Speaking to a neighbour yesterday afternnon, she said they had come in the early hours of Sunday morning!

Im glad we left them at the bottom of drive or they would not have been emptied

Thats a good service, unlike the meal scenario on Sat!
