No you are not David, as long as you are mentioning them only on here ;-)

Now, tea coming up - white with no sugar, and grab a croissant or summat more than a couple of rich tea biscuits and get munching ;-)

Morning all.
Am I breaking the order of this threads title by having mentioned my parents so often?

Gins glad your QA visit went ok.

Hope your sister gets the pain relief she needs and that she gets home soon. good that she is managing to eat something other than soup.

Don't forget to take care of yourself <3

((((HUGS)))) for you both

Dea, we 'tease' each other!

She has eaten more today than in the last month

She had fish and chips (Very small) in a wire basket. It was like a 5* meal. All she has eaten for the past few weeks is soup....due to one of the secondary' on her tongue

Dea Report 15 Feb 2013 19:33

Just 'tek it'Ginns - I know how she feels - I am always 'starving' when in hospital !!

The nurses always end up giving me two dinners and saving all the extra sandwiches for me to nibble through the night.

They are not good though so when hubby comes in he brings me very nice 'sub rolls' with all the fillings and plenty of choccies for when I start to feel better (though I don't think she will want them just at the moment).

Hope all goes well,

Buddy sisters ;-)

I guess you're emotionally exhausted Gins.... <3

Hospices are, indeed, wonderful places. We have an excellent one here and patients come and go for short periods all the time I think. It sounds as though she has happily settled to her new routine......bless her.

Thought I was just popping into one supermarket with daughter today and ended up going to two. It was two too many.........and I am all supermarketed out!!

After I have taken my daughter home, I'm going to concentrate on sorting out my new FTM 2011 which arrived today. If anyone has any hints or tips, I will be happy to hear them..... :-D

That's what I said Ginns - it is the ones around you which you worry about because they suffer the most - 'you' (i.e. the 'poorly' one) get looked after in these circumstances.

It makes it much easier if you do not have to worry about your 'loved ones' !!!

Thanks Dea.

She should be home in about a week after they have monitored her pain meds and found out which ones are the best for her.

I'm fine, but thats because of my sisters approach to the whole thing...a little star she is <3

Tell you what though...I is knackered!

Dea

Dea Report 15 Feb 2013 17:25

These Hospices are in deed most wonderful places Ginns !!

I am pleased she is 'in touch' with somewhere like that - not everyone is so lucky!

Hope she is not there for long and can come home soon but at least she will know where she is going back to if she needs to.

Hope you are O.K. too,

Dea Xxx

Been at the hospice all afternoon, she is being looked after very well and is in good spirits.

There are more stafff and volunteers than patients. I looked on as people were having all sorts of alternative therapies, calming music, foot massages and aromotherpy smells, the place felt so calm

We can eat a meal with sis at her bedside or take her out to church as and when

I watched a member of staff clean a bed after one lady had left....boy oh boy, she put our Cyns cleaning to shame!

The doc came and took all her details and actually asked the difficult questions, about the end and what she wants
