Thank you for breakfast Sylvs - the porridge was just right <3


Glad we sorted out the V products......my daughter used to put lashings of moisturiser on her feet ....... and then pad round her room ...... arrrrghhhh. It made a dreadful mess of the carpet - we had to throw it out.


I must admit that I do like to look after my feet. Can't abide seeing women with dirty, cracked soles wearing sandals. I keep them moisturised and hard skin free! Sometimes I use Vaseline and pop some socks on if I'm doing housework. I've even got some gel socks - they feel really odd to touch, but they do help the feet.


As for eating raw onions.........argh. OH can do that but not me. Mind you, I bet it cleared Sylv's dad's nasal passages out a treat!!!



Hope Gins had a good night's sleep and is feeling better this morning.


Just going for a quick browse then shower and off into town I think. Have got grandson this afternoon. :-D

When my Dad had a cold ................. he used to get a large onion, peel it, then eat it raw


a large Spanish onion was preferred


I have no idea whether it really worked ............................

Doesn't sound like she is any better Dea...........but she does have JB to look after her.


Have just had half an hour's chat with my last remaining uncle who lives in Buckinghamshire. I haven't seen him for about 17 years and he's 89 this year. The brilliant thing is, he sounds no different to when I was a child and his voice brings back so many happy memories of holidays we spent down there. :-D

Sylvia I read your vaseline cure and it reminded me that when I was young and had a sore throat my Dad used to wrap one of his (just off his feet and smelly -and thats being polite- ) woollen socks round our throats. It worked every time don't know if it was because we didn't want to repeat the "cure" the next night :-)

Many years later I mentioned this to a doctor who laughed and said yes it does work but you would get the same result from soaking a gents cotton hanky puting it on your throat and wrapping a woollen scarf around your neck :-|

Not fair :-(
