Jonesey Report 22 Mar 2013 17:28

What was his country of birth, was it Ireland where he was making for on his return to the UK?

Dea

Dea Report 22 Mar 2013 17:15

Just a thought - was he on the american census on there in 1910 ??

Sorry Dea but it looks like I misunderstood your request as WW Ancestry does not I believe have a database covering details of departures from New York. Even if it did it is unlikely to have any more information than that provided on the UK Incoming Passenger list I.E. Passenger name, Their declared age or date of birth, Ship name, Destination ect.

I don't know if it helps any but here are a few more details about the man that show up on the incoming passenger record.

He was an engineer by trade.

He was making for 52 Wolfe Lane, Cork, Ireland.

His last country of residence was the USA

His intended country of residence was Ireland

It's this one Jonesey - It is for a thread I was trying to help on ..........

UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960 about James Bowman
Name: James Bowman
Birth Date: abt 1882
Age: 32
Port of Departure: New York, New York, United States
Arrival Date: 12 Dec 1914
Port of Arrival: Liverpool, England
Ship Name: Lusitania
Search Ship Database: View the 'Lusitania' in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Shipping Line: Cunard Steamship Company Ltd
Official Number: 124082

It is the details from the New York end I am interested in.

Many thanks,

Dea Xxx

Snow buddy Snow buddy Snow !!!

Apparently the whole of Northern Ireland is closed down and without power!

So too parts of Scotland!

The rest of us are covered in white but Cornwall is 'lucky' - It only has torrential rain and floods!

Do we need to get Noah to build another Ark or is the 'end of the world' nigh ???

Dea Xxx ;-) :-D

Dea

Dea Report 22 Mar 2013 13:55

Ginns - Does WW Ancestry have passenger list details, outgoing from New York and coming to England c 1914 please?

Supposed to be having a visit from brother and sister-in-law today. We only see them every few months as they live near Cambridge. They pop in whenever they visit friends 'up north'. Not sure if they will pop in today though..... :-S

More to the point.....lunch! Do we or do we not, chance going out for our Friday lunch ??? :-S :-D

Had GD yesterday as soon as she arrived she wanted to bake she has a memory like an elephant :-)

We had to bake Peppa Pig fairy cakes. Then I made coffee biscuits, 2 gingerbreads and a banana cake :-D

She took some home for her Mummy and Daddy.

I was shattered last night and boy did I sleep :-D

Today I have made a big pot of soup cos it's freezing and half the home baking is already gone (no biscuits left) and only 1 gingerbread.

I too have been having the same problem so I contacted GR Support on Tuesday telling them that I was getting rather peed off constantly getting the error message.

GR and I have been having conversations ever since. So far I have spoken with Alex Brett, Anne-Marie and Lisa. This was the latest reply:

Dear David

Thank you for taking the time to report this problem.

I have passed the details of this specific issue to our technical team to look at and investigate.

Your patience while we work to resolve this is much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Lisa

You had ME wondering for a minute there Gins........ :-0

I soon figured out what you meant though.

Dea, you is quite right, I don't use 'that' word at all as I hate it but, I have been known to use other words which are slightly more acceptable. But not a lot..... :-D

I'm having the same problem as you Dea.......in fact, I have taken to clicking on Post Date to get the last page up and then I scroll to the bottom of the page to add a comment. Wonder what is going on????

Looks like most of us are forecast snow for tomorrow................... :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

I am going to sulk :-)
