Cyns the flood thing is very odd :-S I dont suppose the loo had a tempory block and when last flushed it spilled over?

Linds, I didnt say anything but as you say, next time, we'll pile the snow up outside his house and maybe to the front of his car!

Thank you Sylvs - toast for me please......and I need a very large coffee!


Everything was okay yesterday until I took daughter home in the evening!

I dropped her off and she went inside to fetch something for me. Next thing is, she comes back out saying that I would have to go in because her bathroom was flooded............................. :-(

Yep, it was definitely flooded so, whilst she got herself all worked up, I heaved the sodden bathmat into the bath and paddled about trying to mop up. Couldn't find where it was coming from at all.

Got a neighbour in to see if he could find a leak anywhere........nope.

Phoned housing agency emergency line who promised a plumber tooty sweety!

That reassured her somewhat so I went back to OH.

She phoned later to say that the plumber had been and HE couldn't find the cause of the problem either!!! :-S :-S :-S :-S


I mean, how can a bathroom flood itself when no leak is obvious????

Many years ago, we had a major major snowfall here. The road outside was blocked ....... and we don't get snow ploughs on residential side streets, so it's up to you. In many cases, people just drive along and "bull" their way through ........ or don't go out!

But this one time, the men in our part decided to get out there, particularly the 3 late teens / early 20s sons of one of our neighbours.

They dug and cleared, dug out cars, making sure they could get out, etc etc.

Then the similar aged daughter from across the street came out, picked her way gingerly down their garden path and across the side walk to her car ................ glared across at the young men, as she tippy toed around the car clearing the windows. She then got in, gunned the car, and aimed it straight at one of the young men, mouthing off at him through the window.

She then got stuck in a heap of snow.


The men all left ................... and she had to go get a shovel to clear her way.

I should put a note Linds.....but its cold out there!

And to add to the scenario.....one of the old neighbours didnt come out until the road was cleared....OK, so he's old'ish but his son (23yrs) came out with him...... to clear their own car

................and, sweep a good 2ft of snow onto the road, that we had just spent 2hrs clearing :-P :-|
