Good morning my friends and thank you for breakfast Sylvs.

Only just here because I took OH for a 'fasting' blood test. We need to get there early because of his meds etc.etc.

Thank you for all the tips re the kipper smells........including Sylvs THREE bowls of baking soda!! ;-)

I prefer the natural remedies as I am not very keen on 'fruity' smellies!!

Gins, I've heard that story about the match before. It was recommended by someone who used to travel a lot if I remember rightly.

Jonesey........nice one. ;-)

Going for a browse before resuming housework........ :-D

another tip is

a small unlidded bowl of baking soda at the back of the fridge, or on the counter, shelf or window sill in the kitchen (actually, in any room) helps to keep smells down.

Mornin all~~~~

I get tree fever, hay fever every year, from now until the end of May :-(

Smells.....my sis swears by lighting and blowing out a match (for the bathroom smells)

Mom used to keep a glass of vinegar on the kitchen window ledge and her mom used to keep an onion in the same place....she swore it removed the bacteria from the air

Tea and coffee is on, the grill is hot, ready for Sylvs :-D

Cyn

an English friend used to swear by having a lit candle close to the stove all the time she was preparing and cooking food.

Her husband hated food smells in the house.

I do the same thing when I'm cooking "smelly", even bacon.

It works some times, but not always.

I also have unscented (aka original) Lysol spray air fresheners in the bathrooms ........... and sometimes spray around the house with one of those. That also works ......... without leaving an obnoxious "fruity" scent behind.

Hello Jonesey :-)

I posted on here a couple of days ago and asked how your daughter was doing?

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 10 Apr 2013 22:19

Courtesey of FBG

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Walmart. Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women, she loves to browse.

Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Walmart..

Dear Mrs. Jones,

Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behaviour and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband, Mr. Jones, are listed below and are "documented by our video surveillance cameras":

1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people's carts when they weren't looking.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, 'Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away'. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money.

4. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to reserve a bag of Maltesers.

5. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

6. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers they could come in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department - to which twenty children obliged.

7. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' Emergency Medics were called.

8. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

9. September 10: While handling guns in the Sports department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

10. October 3: Darted around the Store suspiciously while loudly humming the ' Mission Impossible' theme.

11. October 6: In the auto department, he practised his 'Madonna look' by using different sizes of funnels.

12. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled 'PICK ME! PICK ME!'

13. October 22: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he
assumed the foetal position and screamed 'OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES
AGAIN!

14. Took a box of condoms to the checkout clerk and asked where the
fitting room was.

And last, but not least:

15. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited a while, and then yelled very loudly, 'Hey! There's no toilet paper in here.'
One of the Staff passed out.

Cynthia I tried a google search. One suggestion is to keep a cup of white vinegar near the cooker to absorb the smell.

The one I liked was to add some white vermouth to the pan said it stopped the smell. :-D

Gins hope you are feeling better <3

Goodness me Gins....if it's not one thing with you, it's another. Are you a bit run down do you think???

Back from baptism prep. We had kippers for tea (OH's choice) and I've had doors and windows open to get rid of the pong.

Picked up daughter because she helps to make the tea at the prep. and, as soon as she got in the car......"You've had fish for tea"........gee thanks daughter.

Any cures for getting rid of the smell folks????
