I've had word back from Murray......he thought he had started his own thread.....it's been a long time since he was on here apparently. :-)

Shopping, lots of ironing......and playing around on the puter........that's my day!

Actually got round to persuading OH to come to my favourite coffee shop this morning........he is such hard work at times. I brought home a piece of their delicious chocolate brownie cake, and have just eaten it warm with ice cream.....

I take it you'll be keeping your landline then Gins....??

we had the weirdest weather yesterday

Morning ............... cloudy with some sun, about 10 or !!c ...... .......

.............. which was just fine for the almost 49,000 runners in the 10 km Vancouver Sun Run. Most of them wore shades of blue and yellow in honour of the Boston Marathon people. Overshadowed in the world news of course by the London Marathon

Afternoon ................ about 1 pm, heavy dark clouds, pouring rain, hail ................. all weather that was not foreseen by the meteorologists, and surprised even them

Later ................. from about 4 pm, full sun, cloudless blue skies

:-S :-S

G'Day from Aus.
Anyone some info about a long lost relo of mine from UK?
Herbert Woolfenden lived in and owned the Fox Hotel in Loughborough with his wife Maria & 3 children back in 1911(according to Census).
I'd like to know what became of them all after that.
[my 2xGG/F bought him the pub before migrating to Aus in 1910.]
Cheers - Murray

BTW .....

the authorities over here (police, security etc) would much prefer that everyone continue to have a land line phone, in addition to their cell phone.

They maintain that it is much safer that way.

We ourselves have a security alarm system that is connected to the phone line ..................... not sure how it works if you do not have a land line.

You can get broadband for your computer from your cable system here ................ so the same company that provides our TV service is the one that we use for broadband ............. it's "bundled together". We could also get our land line phone connected to that same bundle, but prefer to keep it with the phone company.

Of course, in the way things are here ..................... we could also do the reverse ............ bundle our TV and broadband cable service with the phone company!

The plan for today was to have my friend (my grandchildrens other gran) round for coffee while OH was at footie.

Hairdresser was coming out to trim my hair and another of my friends hair.

Then son asks if he can drop grandchildren off for a few hours.

That was just after 11am they didn't pick them up till 3.30pm :-)

Half an hour later OH and friend come in to watch the footie highlights.

Then we had other son and partner for dinner. Have just sat on me b*m am now shattered boy will I sleep tonight!!
