Planning a lazy day might go to shopes and spend my Christmas vouchers cos I hate going at the weekend when they are busy :-D

It reminds me of 21 years ago ................ OH and daughter had been living in NZ, were within 2 weeks of coming home, planning big party, had to clean up the house, pack up, etc etc.

I got a phone call here to say his mother, in a care home in England, was at death's door. Get here ASAP.

They dropped everything, managed to get on a flight the very next day ........... via Singapore to UK.

Walked into mother's room, she's flat in the bed, looking very ill. She opens her eyes, looks at daughter and says, "You need your hair cutting" ........... which was what she used to say to OH every time he went home.

Next day, she was able to sit up for a little while, and drink some tea.

Ten days later, they had to leave, and m-i-l was out of bed, sitting up in a chair for short periods :-D


The next 6 or 7 months were the best we'd had with her for years ................ she was writing very coherent letters to us every Sunday

She did die in the December, very peacefully, and was buried on her 83rd birthday.

As I've said before Gins........it's a times like this when we realise how precious our loved ones are. Hope all goes well for your sister tomorrow.

By the way Dea.....I went out for lunch with a friend and I didn't have any chocolate brownie cake.


I had a granola biscuit instead....... ;-)

Just got back from the hospital. J is looking much better but is so bored and down staying in the place. She should be home tomorrow :-D

How you can you be knocking on deaths door on Tuesday and going home home on Friday.............lucky girl, lucky us, great medical staff

When we got there at 6pm, she had left her dinner to go cold...no suprise, the omlette looked like an ice hocky puck :-0

More knackered tonight, I think it's all catching up with me, either that or it's age....shut it Cyns

My MIL keeps forcing toffees on me ;-)

Have lost my crown 3 times the dentist just laughs and says "what have I told you about those toffees" don't think it cost me that much though or I would have stopped the toffees ;-)

Now, if anyone want to help, how the hell do I use this iphone5 :-0

went for coffee as usual this afternoon (Wednesday).

Took my first bite of my Coconut Explosion (similar to a coconut macaroon, but much larger and rather softer)


............... and a crown came off one of my molars.


We finished coffee, OH took me up to the clinic where I go.


The dentist saw me in less than 10 minutes.

He checked the crown, saw nothing had been damaged, just the cement gave way


so he fixed it back on, and we walked out of the clinic about 20 minutes after going in

Dental insurance paid something around £50-60, and I had to pay around £20-25

Oh dear Cynths !!!

I feel trult sorry for you but I will NOT pass the chocolates - you were doing SO well and you are not going to spoil it now !

Perhaps a few less chocolate brownies with ice cream are called for ??

And anyway - I need those chocolates far more than you do - I have over 2 lbs to put back on to get back up to 7 stone ;-)

I will eat enough to cheer us both up :-D
