we do say we're going TO the dump :-D
there was the famous summer when we decided to really try to clean up the cabin property ............. there were at least 3 areas that had been used as dumps, and we were fed up with looking at them.
So we kept filling up the trailer with "stuff" .................. it varied from an old TV, parts of old motorcycles, plant material, bits of old carpeting, and who knows what else
It was 40 km each way to the area dump ............................. we made 10 return trips over one 3 week period .....................
that was a total of 800 km to and from the dump :-D
we often sang ................... "to the dump, dump, dump"

I got an email late yesterday afternoon ....................
son of my English cousin "arriving late tonight" :-0
He's coming on business, and wondered if we could have dinner.
Tonight and Tuesday are our only free nights ................... Graduation ceremonies start on Wednesday morning, 4 a day, OH goes to all of them .......... he'll be knackered each day!
Tried to reply to the email ................ my server wouldn't talk to A's server :-S
anyway, finally got in touch ...................... dinner out tonight :-D
Last time we saw A was 16 years ago (almost to the day) ............
.......... he was then a PhD student over here to attend a conference in Montreal, and took the chance to ride the Greyhound bus across the country to visit us. He stayed several days, and attended daughter's BA grad ceremony!

Such a huge amount of ironing today..........I think the neighbours must have been popping their washing into the basket whilst I wasn't looking...... :-S I just worked away listening to a thriller and enjoying it.......
Seems as though town was packed with 30,000 this afternoon - all for the showing of a certain football cup! :-D :-D :-D

I think you were both thinking what I was thinking when I read Linda's comment.;-)
I'm officially on holiday. Went in this morning and as a bonus my boss gave me the rest of the day off after I'd sorted two problems so was home again by 11.00am. :-D
I'm going for my routine check up at Liverpool Royal so will be sitting around in a waiting room so will be travelling tomorrow for appointment on Wednesday. Then there is no point in rushing back home when I can go shopping :-D

Good morning all........and thank you for breakfast Sylvs....cereal for me please :-D
Love the wedding stories. It's 45 years for us next month and I can still remember quite a lot of it. An ex boyfriend of mine said he would 'film' some of it for us - on a 6 mm film. We eventually had it transferred to video and there is a about 10 minutes of it - mostly me arriving at the church with my dad and then the photos afterwards. There is also a great view of the church paving stones!!!
Actually, it's a reminder for me to take the video in to be transferred to dvd - how times change... :-D
Glad everything went well Linds :-)
Off for a quick browse and then into town......~~~~

Cyns and Toots .........
good stories!!
My wedding .....................
OH was in Texas by the time we were arranging our wedding, and so I did much of it. We decided to marry in the church his family went to, way out in the countryside, near Chester.
OH came home about 10 days before the wedding .................. and the vicar, who did know OH of course, said he would like to have a meeting with us.
We duly went ........ and the vicar went through the whole service, including explaining that he would meet me at the door of the church and walk down the aisle with my father and I.
he had a very reasonable reason ........... the first thing he had to ask was "did anyone have any objections to the marriage", and he felt this was very harsh ............ so he liked to soften it by welcoming the bride at the door.
All very well and good .................. until the day
He met Dad and I at the door, walked us down the aisle , turned around and stood on the steps to the chancel and ...........................................
gave the congregation the whole explanation as to why he'd met us
It just got me, and I started giggling, trying to stop the giggles, more giggles
I can't remember much of the wedding!!
Then into the vestry where OH's mother jumped forward to grab the marriage certificate when the vicar said my new name
Then, a little discussion with the vicar as we were to leave the vestry ................ the recessional music had been changed that morning when OH's musician friend discovered that the organ had been replaced with a harmonium ................. only no-one had told the vicar.
Finally, the local farmer beginning to lead his cows home for milking just as the cars were about to turn out onto the road.
