We had a similar incident Jonesey.

One evening sitting at home after a glass of wine we had a knock at the door from a policeman who asked the whereabouts of our car and could we account for our movements because it was involved in a hit and run.

We have been in all evening officer enjoying our wine and our car is right there.

He was a bit confused by this and radioed through to check the reg/make etc.

Fortunately they had the vehicle in the pound as they had caught him.

They needed to check all the chassis numbers and confirmed we had the original

The thing that was unusual was that the guy with the cloned car lived within 1/2 a mile from us, We had bought our car out of area. Would have been interesting if we had both met in an accident.

Everything went well, My doctor is really pleased with my progress. However, he will no longer be my doctor and he introduced me to my new one. He was really easy to talk to, so I'm going to miss him.

Next appointment is three months, not looking forward to it because even though I'm well they are going to do more tests. :-( I'm an anomaly, I don't fit the profile for the condition I have.

Jonesey ...................

that was quite an experience you had!

Did the police manage to get the cloned car?

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 22 May 2013 20:19

The licence plate on our car begins with 3 letters ......................

GSX

We've had that plate since 1998 when we bought the Hyundai wagon

I asked to keep it when we bought and were insuring the Subaru in 2006 .............

............. the insurance agent said not many people wanted to keep and transfer their licence plates from one car to the next, although it was allowable.

my reasoning was that it had taken me 8 years to learn it, and I didn't want to have to begin all over again :-D :-D

No one would want to clone my car as it is about 23 years old !!

It is precious to me though so I am glad to be forewarned !!

Well done Dea,

I once had my vehicle "Cloned" and to add insult to injury it was then used in a robbery in Derby. The first I knew about it was when the local police arrived at my home during the evening. I thought that I had convinced them that my vehicle was not involved but the following morning 2 CID officers from Derby turned up.

They wanted to know who could corroborate my story as to where my vehicle was at the time the robbery took place. It had been parked outside my shop at the time and I guessed that the staff of the next door shop would probably have seen it there. The Derby CID officers actually then went to visit the shop next to mine and spoke to the staff who did indeed recall seeing my vehicle parked outside, so I retained my liberty.

Dea,

Not wise to display the full vehicle number on a public website. I suggest you remove the first letter and the 3rd number

A gazebo eh... you don't see that many of those here.

What do you call the little round open air one that is on the top of some old houses... People over the back of my in-laws had an old villa with one.... you could not see much of their house because of the native plantings between them and the in laws but you could see the little gazebo type thing. (in-laws won a prize one year for their wonderful native garden)

My in-laws had a penchant for bathing in the nude, but when I was there I never noticed anyone up there having a look down on them. When my FIL died the neighbour came and talked to me and said how they had to stop the grandies from going up there to play whenever OH's parents were swimming.

Persie (who might tell you about her wedding sometime)

Just got a bargain. we wanted to buy a gazebo for the party. have been looking for a while.

Yesterday DIL says try Argos they have a nice one reasonably priced.

Go on website and they have one on offer if you buy the gazebo and the side panels you get the panels free AND the gazebo is half price so instead of £100 cost us £30 :-D :-D :-D :-D

We need gravel for the driveway priced it at local B&Q over £6 for 25 kg found it for a third of the price at a builders merchants :-D :-D

Wonder what our next bargain will be ;-)

Cyn,

I currently own 2 cars.

The letters on the first are DJZ, not difficult to work out the interpretation of that one. :-D

The second cars number plate begins with the letters BF, so I can guess what your interpretation of that one will be. ;-)

Persephone

Persephone Report 22 May 2013 09:15

so what is this number plate Cyns?

Cynthia Report 22 May 2013 08:51

Good morning and thank you for breakfast dearest Dea...........as long as the kettle is on, then I am a happy bunny! :-D

I never notice the numbers either Persie........it passes me by completely. :-S

If I want to try and remember someone's car, I never go by the make or by the numbers on the number place, but always the letters - and I make words out of them........ sad or what? :-D

Hope all goes well today Toots and that you don't have a day like yesterday....... :-)

Wonder if I can fit a walk in this morning? Am off to see my health trainer this afternoon and I really, really want to have lost at least a couple of pounds this time........ ;-)

See you later ~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning all :-)

No sunshine yet today but 'we live in hope' ;-) :-D

Ketttle is on and the porridge is bubbling away, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes are just about done and I have poached some eggs and toasted crumpets for our Ginns,

Will just pop out and get some fresh croissants and danish pastries,

See you all later,
