Persie I also loved the angry woman story :-D

Gins Please don't share the hailstones we had them last week and it set the car alarm off. Hope all goes ok for J <3 <3 <3

Toots shame you didn't find anything would have made all the form filling worthwhile :-)

I have got a HUGE pot of chilli cooking to freeze for the birthday party next weekend :-D

Gee Report 23 May 2013 17:50

What did you get me, from Costco?

I opes it resembled your shop ;-)

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 23 May 2013 17:09

We've got hailstones again, too.

Finished work at lunchtime (no more work 'til Tuesday - yiiipppppeee) took car to garage to have winter wheels and tires taken off (still wondering if I should have left them on, it's only 9C here). Man in garage gives me the docket for the work done - it said "summer wheels and tyres fitted" - I told him to look out the window at the white stuff and said "you're havin' a laugh?"

Went to Costco and stocked up. Fags, wine and 2 lovely hanging baskets (haven't had time and it's been too cold to do my own for out front). That's me sorted for the weekend!

Hi everyone

Persie, love the angry woman story.

Cyn, sit down and put your feet up.

Glad I didn't go to Sheffield as you're have hailstone been quite pleasant in St Helens.

I went to the family history centre today to look up a marriage and possible baptism only to be told that I needed to join the library first. I did explain I was from out of the area and was only here for a few days. There was not another soul in the place. Anyway I complied and filled in the application form and was told I needed proof of ID. I gave her my passport only to be told it wasn't good enough and I needed further proof of my address. I asked what she meant that my passport wasn't enough proof when it was for governments around the world as I cross their borders. She only accepted my application when I showed her my address. The icing on the cake was that they didn't have the records I was interested in LOL

Glory be! I've been busy ALL day........ :-S

Up to my eyeballs in housework and OH decides he needs a haircut!!! Okay, highly inconvenient but go for it. Book into barber's for a Search and Find appointment.

After dropping him off, I park nearby and wander into a 'collectibles' shop for a browse whilst waiting. Ended up buy two Willow Tree plaques for my bedroom.. :-D

Next...... to Tesco on the way home. Eventually get home for lunch and then out again to hairdressers. Just back and have decided on Fish and Chips for tea.....
;-)

Persie, I don't 'do' scrambled with number plates.......the words have to come from consecutive letters. :-)

Waves ~~~~~~~ to Toots on her way through.......~~~~~~

Gins? Please keep the hailstones and whiteness over there thank you! :-D

Just passing through as I go and see if I can find parish record for a marriage.

Persephone

Persephone Report 23 May 2013 09:31

We had a car nicked once... police notified us where it was ..not that far from our place ... we went and got it and OH asked the woman at the house where it was left, if she had seen the ashtray (it had a woodie dashboard and himself wanted to have the ash tray in tact) and a pair of sunnies were missing.

OH got a torrent of abuse because he had not left enough petrol in the car for it to have been taken further and the thieves had left our car and taken hers... it was all OH's fault.

Another time we found our van unlocked but nothing was missing .... well not until we were out and about and I went to the glove box for an Oddfellow Peppermint ... the bag of them had gone.. must've been kids that broke into the vehicle.

Dea ... your sachertorte tin.... is that yours? I didn't think it could be yours as you don't do foreign and it is for an Austrian cake... however what do I know the tin has Made in China written on its base..

Gin,

If you don't know a man who knows a man you just order them from one of the many sellers on Ebay. No questions asked and no paperwork required.

Mornin all~~~~~

Just been catching up on your 'cloned' cars :-0

My plate is private and you need the relevent documents to get a plate made up. I guess there are people that have access to 'plate' forgers out there

Toots <3

LadyKira Report 22 May 2013 22:45

Actually acording to the police he had bought in Peckham so he did not do it. They said usually when cloning happens they make sure the is distance between the two

We bought ours in Maidstone.

I do not think he had long as you say MC.

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 22 May 2013 22:25

Sylvia,

The sequel was that shortly after that incident my business partner was stationary at a road junction when he thought he saw me approaching in my vehicle. As the vehicle got closer he could see that it was not me driving it but the vehicle had my number on it. The vehicle crossed his path and as soon as he could my business partner set off after it. Unfortunately he was held up down the road by traffic lights on red and lost sight of it. That incident was reported to the police but they never came back to us to say whether or not they ever found who had cloned it.

LK,

As he lived near to you the guy who cloned your car had obviously seen your vehicle about locally and having a similar vehicle to yours available decided to have number plates made up with your vehicles number and fitted them. He must have been caught out fairly quickly otherwise you would have been in danger of receiving speeding tickets, parking fines. congestion charge fines ect for things that he, not you, had done.

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 22 May 2013 21:58

At least it was the car that was cloned and not our Jonesey......I mean........ :-S :-S

Got me stumped on your reg Sylvs..... :-(

Toots.....that's really good news.......and you're not an anomaly at all.......you're 'special'. :-) <3

Lucky 'escape' for you there LK............. :-D :-D :-D

Saw my health trainer today...... :-( my weight seems to be static :-( I had hoped for a drop in same....... :-( had bacon and sausage for tea to compensate..... :-D

Nearly bedtime again.............................night all......

MarieCeleste

MarieCeleste Report 22 May 2013 21:50

LK was the cloned car the same make and model as yours? If so, wonder if the chap had seen that you had the same car so got the number plates made?

We've just had lashing rain then hailstones - the ground was all white - don't want to see that towards the end of May! I'm finally getting round to having my winter wheels and tyres taken off tomorrow, wonder if I should have waited?
