Thank goodness Linda has done the washing.. could not get through the laundry door yesterday.

Ah yesterday.. we were having a bit of a problem getting the slots etc in the right place..

What we were doing .. replacing a toilet seat. The existing one was perfectly okay and I cleaned up where the screws went through it at the back and it looks just like new... it is going in a plastic bag to be kept as a spare for the rental properties.

Now you might ask why are we replacing a perfectly good functional toilet seat..

Well when we got it we were doing up our back bathroom which also has laundry in it At the time the loo was in there as well but it was quite a big room we managed to make a toilet room in the corner of it. So we got new bath, hand basin, and loo and the colour of the day was almond ivory.

At the time the builders and the plumber were having a conflab with OH about colours for bathroom facilities and this almond ivory colour came up.. I was consulted and I said I would prefer almond daiquiri so apart from making the builder chuckle I was no help.

Since then when we were working on replacing and straightening weather boards down the side of the house we noticed water had leaked and rotted a joist at the tap end of the bath. So round two of the builders out came the almond ivory bath and in went a white one (I think my grandchildren are the only ones that have ever bathed in other one)... Next OH pulls out toilet cistern as it had worn out a bit and replaced with white so now it was the toilet seat's turn to be brought into line.

The thing is we are now going to have to take out the toilet pan because believe it or not it too is a beigey colour which OH had not noticed until he had installed the new bright gleaming whiter than white seat.

One day it will all be finished and then we ca..can.. will move. Ho hum....

Thank you MC for restoring trolley to its rightful place and thank you for the building kit of spare parts Dea.. it was trying to put that together reminded me of how long it took for him to get the toilet seat back on.

Just popping in on my way to bed, night night all.

Have made some hot chocolate, there are mini peppermint marshmallows; cinnamon sticks; freshly grated nutmeg and some chilli powder for the more adventurous. Can of squirty whipped cream.

It's all on that nice trolley that parachuted into my back yard.
