the downside was .......................

the car broke down on the way there on Saturday

on a great long 6% grade road up to the summit of one of the mountain passes

the clutch went

we had to be towed about 40 km to the nearest dealer

fortunately, that turned out to be in the town where we were going

One clutch and one "slave cylinder" (????) later ...................... we got a beautifully washed car back

and paid a pretty large bill :-(

we enjoyed our conference, lots of our good friends were there .............. but, boy, was it busy and tiring.

First talk was at 8 am in the morning, and the last usually around 5 or 5:30 pm. Then evening events.

Monday was a day off ................... all botanists have to go on field trips to look at the plants, so that was where most oft hem went ................. bottoms up in fields and forest, looking at plants :-D

Excellent buffet on Sunday night

excellent bbq on Monday night

and great banquet on Wednesday

Good morning from me too :-D

Thank you for coming to the rescue Persie...........I think Jonesey's corn scramble is my choice too.......it's the bacon that does it!

I rather like the smell of burned toast.......I did once read that, if you were running late in preparing a meal but didn't want others to know, then start frying an onion, it makes everyone think that the food is imminent!! :-D

Another beautiful day........ :-)

Dea

Dea Report 7 Jun 2013 08:08
