Hello Everyone,
Our hospitals have now reverted to free parking and not before time. I think it was the worst idea ever as the last thing anyone needs to worry about when attending/visiting hospital is paying for parking or worrying about going over the allowed time.
Falling off horses being chased by cows :-)
Persie our hall was artexed and yes it had asbestos we were told the best thing to do was to plaster over it so we have :-D
Cynthia - Looking at old photos is always fun though I am not sure if your son would agree at the moment ;-)
Now that reminds me I have some photos to organise hopefully in the next few days :-)
Now if only I can persuade OH to start some spring clear out :-0

Fans .... What you mean to say is ... I have not ridden on a horse for c 10 years You bin riding all over on that broomstick of yours .... <3
Know how you feel ... I had not ridden for years and was amazed to find I could still trot and canter ..... And popped over a largish log .... Only rode for 10 mins or so
Took me 10 days to recover ...... The inside of my legs were agony
Loves to all

Good morning my friends.... :-)
Sounds like everyone has been having a hectic time...........
Thank you for breakfast Sylvs......I am going to be extra extra good and stick with my porridge. I have to go for my annual cholesterol test soon :-(
Linds, you must have been meeting yourself coming backwards. That's a really upsetting and annoying thing to happen to your son - hope it gets sorted out very soon.
Parking......sheeesh....a rip off indeed. When I did my voluntary work at the hospital, we had so many complaints about cost and lack of, parking. If people didn't have high blood pressure when they arrived at the hospital, they sure had it when they reached whichever clinic they were going to.
Fell off a horse which was standing still??? Ah.....drunk in charge of a mount eh?? ;-)
Seems as though Spring has sprung with everyone having a good old tidy out! Even though we downsized when we retired, I still have a clear out now and then. I try and keep things under control - ready to make it easy for the kids when they have to clear up after we have left this mortal coil.... :-D :-D :-D
Had a lovely evening/night with the family last night. A takeaway followed by a look at some old photos - just to embarrass my son on Father's Day.....his children thought that some of his fashions were hysterical and, as for a picture of him with a former girlfriend.......it brought the house down :-D
Must go.......Mount Everest of Ironing awaits me.....~~~~~~

Seems hospital parking is a world wide rip off, we're the same in the UK :-| Also, you enter the car park and spend 30mins trying to find a space........
.........a space that needs a can opener to get out of (once youre in)
The parking is free where at the hospice where my sister is, it's limited though. Its only 2 minutes from home in the car, we can use street parking as its in the suburbs

Persie,
How do you fall off a horse standing still! :) Are you sure it was a horse!
Never mind I got chased by a herd of cows one day if that makes you feel better!
I agree about the cost of parking in hospitals...here it has got ridiculous - some are $28.00 for two hours now...look how long it sometimes takes for someone to get admitted etc and then see how much it costs you when you leave! It is not as though there are any labour costs for them to pay, most are only operated with a pass card system no humans....
OH and I have been having a tidy up - meaning all of a sudden he gets a flurry on and decides to get rid of stuff he decides is taking up space. I don't generally mind except when he ventures into the parts of the house that I mostly access (like the kitchen pantry) and rearranges it - all very neatly but not in the order of having to hand the things you access the most...
And it takes so long as his enthusiasm builds so my weekend of free time lesssens!
:)

Our car parking system is getting worse in Auckland.
Most of the shopping malls have free parking for max 240 mins at a couple of places the rest 180min max... but other shopping centres have first hour or so free providing you buy something.
Hospitals are a big rip off.. parking can get quite steep if you are spending a day at A & E.. when I got admitted finally at around 11pm one night after spending day in A & E we found out from a nurse hang around till just after midnight and then you can leave for free. So himself went and sat in the car and did his sudoku..... he drove right up to the exit and parked near it. The attendant said to him going home now.. so you can leave in a minute or two. LOL
We have been clearing out our bedroom which has a mezzanine level so there was a lot of stuff to come out ... clothes out of the walk in, couch, bed, chests of drawers etc and books and bookshelf, chucked the curtains then we removed the carpet and underfelt.
Underneath the carpet was the old fashioned linoleum.. all in a coloured squares pattern.. looked like some sort of disco. We would have removed this to but we got the specialist in because we believed that the backing of the lino was asbestos... and yes it was.
So the room is sealed in plastic today and asbestos being removed, a young Polynesian lad and his father are the two workers.. their boss has gone elsewhere. I made them pikelets (your drop scones) for their morning tea... what a plonker I had put the golden syrup in them as I do but forgot the sugar and Polynesian boys like sweet....
Not to worry buttered them and poured a blob of golden syrup on top of each one (we only have diabetic jam for himself) .. put them on a barbecue plate and they were wolfed down so buttered the balance of them and the pair of them ate those as well.
I haven't ridden a horse in years FbyG... I fell off one once very slowly .. it was standing still.. don't ask..

Hi Everyone,
Hope you all had a nice day. I typed out a long post pressed enter and it disappeared so here goes again :-(
I was making brunch waiting on No2 son and GD coming with pressie for fathers day.
Phone goes its No2 son can I look and see if his works van is still parked outside???
Yes it is why? "My car (parked in the driveway at his partners mums house shich has a fence all round it) has been broken into.
The thieves had got his van keys, house keys, gym kit - still got yesterdays smelly stuff in it- and sat nav. He also had a letter from the bank to set up internet banking!
So they had our home address and keys for both the house and van :-(
Police asked him not to use car till they had a chance to fingerprint it might be tomorrow though.
He had contacted his work to get a spare set of keys so OH had to go and pick him and F up and bring them here to wait for keys being dropped off!
Son and GD visited and left OH picked up No 1 and F.
OH and I go to shops come home guy comes with van keys son drives van to works yard which is gated and locked so cant be accessed. Workmate drives him back to us.
OH drives them back to partners Mums to await police then has to go back and pick them up as they were eating here.
Which meant he had to drive them back again we cant remember now why son didn't use his car to come for dinner as police had been - must ask him when he comes home :-S
Luckily we always have a spare lock and keys in the house so son who is a joiner has changed house lock :-D
I am now sitting on my bum with a BOTTLE of wine and nibbles more on table if anyone is still about help yourselves.
PHEW hope this posts this time :-(
