Good morning and thank you for the porridge Sylvs.... :-D


Linda, my grandson was a 'sleep fighter'. I used to sit by him and gently stroke his head whilst quietly reading to him. 'The Gruffalo' and 'Little Rabbit Foo Foo' were great favourites with both of the children :-D


My new cooker should be arriving this afternoon and someone is going to fit it for me this evening. Looks like a fish and chip night to me..... :-D :-D :-D :-D


Overcast and a bit grey here, but I want to get into the habit of taking a walk each day...........I'll go off shortly...... :-D

I know how you feel my brothers aren't interested in the cousin I found recently after over 30 years :-(

Yes it is wonderful when she goes to sleep even if it is normally only for half an hour.

I have never seen a baby who fights so much and for so long before giving in and going to sleep. Glad the sports day went well and well done to your GD on coming second :-)

Busy day today........Lots of housework done this morning. Visitors arrived so it was coffee time. Then off we all went to lunch at a local hostelry...very nice indeed.

Came home and decided, after a while, that it would be nice to have a walk so off we went.

Return home and it's phone calls and tea time :-D


Absolutely lovely day here........


Had some correspondence (at last) from OH's new found cousin. It seems as though there are about 4 more cousins out there - well, there were, but at least one has died. Is OH interested? Don't be silly :-(


Off to see what's been happening today.......

I remember when you made fun of me Ginns when I said I had done the same to a spider which, including the legs, was about the size of a saucer !!! - Now you know that what I said was true ;-) :-D :-D - It was HUGE !!!!!

JB is home, he emptied the cylinder and found the spider...........let it out in the front garden

He said: 'God, that was a big one'

Oooh you'd be proud of me............JB is not home yet and I spotted the biggest spider, the type with two round bits to its body and big fat hairy legs

I ran for the hoover and sucked him up.......I cant bare to kill anything, so am waiting for JB to come home and empty the cylinder :-0

Well, Sports day went well and grand-daughter even managed a 2nd place in one of the races :-D It was SO hot though - It has now cooled down quite considerably to a 'still very hot' 25 degrees :-)

GD No2 is asleep hopefully for at least an hour as my ears are sore she always

fights going to sleep :-(

GD No1 is out in the garden (which looks like a nursery) with grampa and I am going to make us lunch.
