Very sensible of you to go to hospital Cynths - It is always best to get thinks checked out when you have had a head injury - you can never be sure that it is not serious !

So pleased it is O.K. <3 <3

You have just reminded me of something my little grandson has learned - I don't think I have mentioned it before ?

Anyway, a few weeks ago he wanted to stay up late and having gone to bed, he came downstairs saying that his finger was hurting! - he got a cuddle then straight back to bed. Then he came down saying his tummy was hurting - again, a little cuddle and straight back to bed.

The next night he had thought of something better ;-) He shouted downstairs that he had bumped his head on the wall - Daddy went up and he told him that it had been a 'really big bump' and that his head 'really really' hurt !! He also told him that 'Mummy lets me stay downstairs when I have bumped my head" - which, of course is true! - We all know that you should keep children awake for a while after a bump on the head, just in case it is serious - Well, HE knows that now too <3 :-D :-D :-D

They decided that as they had not heard a 'big bump' and there were no actual tears and no visible bump etc., that they would chance it and not fall for his little trick. ;-)

They did, however, keep going in and out to check on him though to see he was O.K. They hardly slept all night just in case he had been telling the truth :-D :-D :-D

Good morning............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I is tired...zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Decided that I had better get my head checked so I phoned NHS direct who, of course, thought I should go to hospital. I got dressed again (having put my pjs on) and phoned for a taxi. 2 hours later I am home in one piece having being reassured that I don't seem to have done anything drastic.

Whilst I am very grateful for that, it meant I didn't get to bed till almost 2am and I am NOT a night owl :-(

Dearest Dea, I would be delighted to join you in some pancakes and yes, sugar and lemon for me please. Just what I need. Thank you <3

I have a FA - my OH. He used to work in a bank and has a tendency towards not parting with hard earned money too easily ;-)

Off for a quick browse 'cos I have a busy day ahead.........

Good morning all :-)

Well, it looks a lot cooler out there today - quite dull and dreary looking but it feels even hotter than before !!! :-S

No Ginns, I don't have an FA either - I don't trust them !

I does all my own research and sorts myself out !

I have done VERY well so far so I obviously don't need to pay for their advice !!! ;-)

Not another fall Cynths :-( Hope that poor head gets better soon! <3 <3

Anyone for freshly made pancakes, with fillings of your choice.............

Sugar and lemon for me (and I think Cynths too ?), fresh cream, fresh fruits, syrup, chocolate sauce, ice cream.......... and more................

Hope you enjoy <3 <3

Financial Adviser!!! Never thought of that..... :-D

Have never been to Spain Dea, but the scenario was interesting!!

Visitors left about an hour ago.....as we were seeing them off, I stepped out of the front door, went over on my ankle, hit my head on the porch ledge and landed in a heap. What a twerp I felt........SO embarrassing :-(

Have got an 'egg' on the back of my head which is a bit tender but am okay.....sheesh..........

Off for a browse.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with a place in Spain called Sitges ??

It is not far from Barcelona, on the Coast, and it is known as the 'Gay Capital' of Europe !! ;-)

It is a pretty place but absolutely overflowing with Gay bars etc... all the shop windows are full of black leather basque type clothes with suspenders etc but in 'Man' sizes !! - Certainly something to see!!

All around you are 'couples' strolling hand in hand and dressed in the most wierd clothes ..........they are perfectly friendly though and I am very open minded :-D

Anyway - I have set the scene!.............

At the present time, my son and D-I-L are on holiday in Spain with grandchildren.

It is a sort of a family re-union for D.I.L.'s father who, as some of you might remember was 'on death's door' just over 12 months ago.

He has many brothers who are spread all over the world and they have all come together, with their families to a place in Spain.

D.I.L. is from the 'less rich' side of the family but at least 2 of his brothers are multi-millionaries and they have rented this huge place up in the mountains to accommodate all of this very large family !

The nearest place they can get to is Sitges !

At least one of the brothers took his Porsche with him when he travelled and on Monday thought he would take a drive down into Sitges - taking with him a young teenage boy from the house (Mansion) they have rented, to guide him around.

Can you imagine the reception they were given and the looks they got from those wandering about - an English man, 'knocking 60', driving an open top Porsche and accompanied by a very young local teenage boy, ?????

I am surprised he managed to make it back up the mountain !!!

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Ladies we went to see a Financial Advisor but I did have a giggle at your suggestions :-D

Dea My dear old Dad would agree with your OH he kept stuff in the fridge till it was all used up or walked to the bin on its own :-S

He never suffered any ill effects either :-)

I read a while ago that the "best before/use by " dates are going to be removed because of the amount of food that is wasted.

Going back to the way we used to do it by common sense :-)

One of my S-I-L's used to give Dad food that was out of date but she had frozen it when fresh :-S She wouldn't be told that it was fine to use on the day she defrosted it :-S

She gave him it to give to his dogs - don't think they saw much of it :-D

Dea Report 9 Jul 2013 14:38

Gawd - My hubby is going to poison himself when I have gone !!! - He is useless !!

When I used to work away from home I always used to have to empty the fridge of anything which might not last the week until I came back.

He believes that if you buy a cooked chicken and put it in the fridge that it will not go off - it will last however long until you have eaten it all !!

He has just asked me if I want any sausages - thankfully I said no! But then he said to me "these have the expiry date as 7th July - do you want me to freeze the rest or bin them ????? :-0

"BIN THEM" I said !! - It is my fault for having something in there which is out of date but I am not quite 'on top of things'. just at the moment ;-)

I told him not to eat them as I had more but he insists that they will be alright !!

The strange thing is though, he never seems to suffer any ill-effects from his actions ! :-0 :-D :-D

Morning all.........Thanks Dea.......I'll have some bacon and croissants please......then I will hoover up after myself!!! :-D

Another love day........got some bits and bobs to do today - got our 'visitor' and his wife coming for an easy meal this evening, so I have better shape up - as they say round here.

Gins........good on yer. Can't you get the facility where you can see who is calling so that you can ignore those you can't face speaking to? I have to admit that I have done that on the odd occasion with my friend when she is in a 'phoning' mood and I am harrassed with something else. I get back to her later when I have more time.

Off I go........
