Sylvs my friend - much love and many hugs <3 <3

Dea, that was, indeed, kind of the police to pay a personal visit. Thinking of you.

I think we'll all get our own brekkies this morning given the circumstances.

Gins likes to spend, spend, spend? One would never have guessed :-P

LK, so glad things are calming down for you. Let's hope that this dreadful time is drawing to an end.

Wet here again. What does it matter given all what is going on round and about us??

Not sure what I am up to today. Did my housework yesterday because a friend was coming round - a friend who is houseproud to the nth degree!

We get on well and we've known each other over 30 years but when you visit her house there is never a thing out of place. Not a crinkled cushion nor a crumb not a smudge - even if you call unannounced! Almost afraid to sit down but they are so welcoming.

A mutual friend told me she is exactly the same and even resorts to having a quick lie down to recover from her efforts. We do have a sympathetic laugh with each other at times and continue the friendship regardless. :-D

No - Totally unexpected Persie.

We live a long way apart so the Police up there contacted my 'local' Police and they came round to tell me. Pretty good service when you think about it. - much kinder than a 'phone call !

I don't have a financial advisor, not likely to get one. I do know one thing our two girls will do very well because of their frugal parents.

Tell Iain chin up ... that should help.

Your outlook will stand you in good stead Sylvia... it isn't the news one wants to hear.. but catching it early is good news.

I take it your brother wasn't ill then Dea... that must have been a shock. Bit of a double whammy when the police are the ones to tell you.

When my cousin died - he dived in a pool and had a heart attack - his wife was cooking dinner and thinking that he should be home and then the knock at the door - she wondered why he wasn't using his key - and here were two policemen. But he had had a heart attack before.

Persie

Good morning all,

Thank you for all your hugs and messages.

I'm O.K. really - just came as a big shock - we have to wait now for the Post Mortem.

Sylvs, I have already sent you a pm but a couple of extra hugs won't take any harm..... coming over to you >>>>>> <3 <3 <3

Hope things stay calm around there LK - keep safe !

Now for the good news / bad news.

The financial advisor this morning told us that we will run out of money .............. if we live to be 136. :-D

This afternoon ???

Have phoned daughter, and told her

I'm also going to post it on the various threads ........... I'm not shy about it!

I have invasive cancer of the left breast, Stage 1

invasive ..... not too good

Stage 1 ........... very good! That's a very early stage

I now have to wait for the surgeon to be contacted by my GP, and an appointment made for me to see her ...... fortunately for me, the surgeon of choice of the doctor who saw me today is the same surgeon I would have asked to see, the one who operated on me in 1995. The GP considers this woman to be the best surgeon, and very honest and capable. Which is exactly as I found her to be.

so I am now in a waiting game. My desire would be another mastectomy, but obviously that has to be discussed.

I'm feeling pretty good about it ......... taking it in stride. I was more than half expecting it for some reason.

Oh Dea I am so sorry.

Have a hug from me.

I had a visit from 2 policeman today to give us advice on what action to take if there is a riot.
Most of it is what we did anyway.
Switch off lighting from window but low light on in reception so cameras can catch images. etc.
Better late than never I spose.

Last night was quieter. The rumours that they were on their way false.but since every other shop had shut we think we did the right thing.

Our friend is still unable to get access to his Peckham practice as Greggs and the underwear shop will have to be demolished.

Daughter drove through Lee today and saw lots of damage.
A friend in Woolwich is unable to open still as there is no power.
