Gins and Dea-
Oh-I'm sure we'll be OK.
Just have to keep an eye on flooding problems. The wind- I cannot control. grin
Do wish I weren't a smoker, though. You start to feel very odd standing outside puffing away as a storm rages.

Speaking of which-Dea- curious to know (sorry if this has been discussed} are your "taste buds" affected by your meds?

Mo

Dea Report 28 Aug 2011 09:15

Actually Cynths - the 'appetite' will be raging for the next week or so - I have had to go back on the steroids again because I couldn't breath - they are starting to sort it out now but they don't half make you hungry :-D :-D

Morning everyone. Another sunny day here but looks a touch breezy.

Spoilt for choice yet again! Thanks Sylvs.

Dea....what do you mean - getting your appetite back? I'd never noticed it had gorn! :-D

Mr Jones is going to be SO jealous that ja...x and Renes sorted out the tekkie prob. Well done you two.

Not sure what I am about today - depends on whether OH is motivated. May go and see my once-poorly friend, take her back to her house and pick up some bedding that needs washing. Something less for her to worry about.

See you later.

I must say we have the Olympics just down the road from us (mountain bikes) I dont think I will move out :-D

We had a practise the other week and were given parking permits for two cars...we have a drive and I am sure we could get HIDs car on too and sell the parking permits :-)

I cannot see anyone parking where I live and walking it would take half an hour at least

LK

I meant to respond to an earlier posting of yours re access problems during the Olympics

My experience from the Winter Olympics last year in Vancovuer is to advise you to leave town!

Cancel all appointments

Do not plan on being able to carry out life in anyhting like normality!

The Summer Olympics are much larger than the Winter ones, so our problems would be multiplied for your

Also do not forget that the paralympic Games begin a week or 10 days after the Olympics ............. so you have add that disruption to your calendar.

It will be at least one month!

I did not go downtown for about 5 weeks

No-one with any sense took a car to anywhere near downtown OR any sporting or etertainment venues.

All parking and stopping was suspended in the whole downtown area

All parking and stopping was suspended on all routes between the Athletes Village(s), sporting venues, hotels where IOC members were staying, the IOC headquarters, and the airport.

Car cavalcades of IOC officials had priority movement on all roads ...... they were escorted by police cars and motorcycles ....... the motorcylces did a sort of rolling closure of all side roads until the cavalcade had passed.

The most important people at the Olympics are NOT the athletes, but the IOC members. Nothing must be allowed to hold them up.

I am deadly serious here ....... do not expect your clients to have an easy time reaching you if you are anywhere near any of the above mentioned venues.
