Is Maureen okay with all this bad weather over there?

Ja.......x I met up with the person known as Spider Legs (Living Rellies search thread) today at the Library... we had lots of laughs and went on a "Smith" search... not an easy one. She is a delightful lady who lives in Sydney.

It was terrible when we were in Nova Scotia last month ................... it was hot (25-28C) and about 80-90% humidity!

Of course, not a lot of places are air-conditioned, at least on the coasts. Inland Canada expects very hot summers.

I would shower and blow dry my hair, and it would be soaking wet by the time I got my clothes on!

I hope that you don't get those muggy hot conditions

it's strange how the climate has changed.

When we first came to Vancouver in 1968, we might get a maximum of 5 days in the summer when it was really hot and unpleasant ......... usually only 2 or 3 days at atime, then the weather would break.

We never needed air conditioning, in house or car.

Now we get many more days with those hot temperatures, and we bought an air conditioned car 4 years ago!

I hate it when it is muggy ....much prefer heat than when it is like that, although I read the newspaper today and they are expecting us to have a bad summer heat and humidity wise.

I work for the emergency services so I hope for neither of those conditions!

I guess it’s the Hudson that might swell and flood NY.....leccy might bet orf so Mo might not have internet

I do think that if NY is in the slightest bit vulnerable it gets the headlines....it’s never hit when I’ve been there despite the warnings

Deep south....don’t seem to get the news coverage when there are hard storms...until it’s happened

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 28 Aug 2011 19:58

Do hope Mo is still safe in NY ..... our reports are that the wind and rain were less than anticipated (still strong!), and flooding was also less.

Now Irene is heading for Canada, but has been downgraded to a tropical Storm

West of New Brunswick (ie Quebec and possibly Ontario) will get mucho rain.

East of New Brunswick (ie, Nova Scotia, Labrador and possibly Newfoundland) will get strong winds.

Hello, J&M ................ watch your roof :-D

after that, who knwos where it will go .................... are heavy rain and strong winds forecast for the UK?

To get back to old search on Anc just click on search all records a couple of times, that normally works for me.

Up on right hand corner it may say"go to old search"....Depends how it feels I think on if its there or not

'Mutton dressed as lamb' springs to mind !!!
