My builder is a retired friend of my MIL's. He asked his friend who is a plumber to have a look at the pipework. Plumber dropped in today to remove a sink so builder can get behind to do some plastering. He is going to remove saniflow and put in a proper sewerage system tomorrow. It turns out plumber used to do work on FIL's hotel and his mate used to be a chef in the hotel too but retrained as a plumber. OH has been in his element catching up.

Been missing for 4 days now.

Phone call to his OH should sort that prob. :-P

Cyn,

"It was bit like kissing a thistle!"

Are you an experienced thistle kisser then?

I always thought that a bearded man was inclined to tickle a lady's fancy.

Cynthia Report 12 Sep 2011 09:00

True Dea! Have to set the alarm clock that bit earlier.

Suddenly remembered about beards Jonesey. My OH grew one the first year we were married.....he look like King George the wotsit. After I discovered porridge in it one morning it was for the chop never to reappear!

I actually kissed a man with a beard yesterday (my OH was right beside me at the time in case you are wondering). It was bit like kissing a thistle!

:-D

Dea! When did you arrive??

Grace, I meant to say about your little girl - do hope she improves soon - she seems to be going through quite a rough spell at the moment doesn't she? Lots of TLC to you both.

Morning most - night Sylvs!

Mo - it must be a very sad and subdued atmosphere where you are at the moment. Very understandable. <3

I saw the re-run of the planes hitting the towers twice yesterday and I still sat shellshocked. I remember when we watched it live on tv - we couldn't take in what was actually going on. We went and stood in the peace of our garden and I remember the sun was shining and the birds were twittering and we tried to make sense of what was going on in the US. We failed miserably.

Sylvs, I would say thank you for breakfast but that Gins has snaffled the lot. Don't know what Dea will say :-S

Rooting about for some toast bread......sigh

Dea Report 12 Sep 2011 08:22

I am glad you put some bacon quiche tarts in there Sylvia 'coz that gready Ginns ate every last bit of the other two !!!

Lovely breakfast again - thank you <3

Gracie, I know what you mean about the ones who are left behind when these awful tradgedies happen and your opinion is all the more poignant coming from someone who is herself a 'firefighter' and liable to be called to deal with such situations.

You and your daughter seen to be having a pretty rough time of it lately - are you sure there is nothing 'bothering her' and causing all these symptoms?

Hope she gets better soon.

Hi all hope you are well.Fans I am sorry for this difficult time for you...

Jonesy I watched the documentary last night and it was very sad..a lot of the footage I had not seen it before. On a personal note it is a bit hard to watch those stories sometimes..both myself and partner are firefighters and if he has been called out, particuarly when it is very bad I worry all the time...Black Saturday was probably our equivalent in terms of shock and trauma.

It is such an awful time, but I can't but be inspired by the bravery of the people who gave erevything they had, the ones that got left behind and those who are managing to still live with it all. My heart goes out to each of them. I don't know if that came out right ...

Am at home for the next few days, my daughter has come down with a bad case of tonsilitis so lots of cuddles and tlc for her! I actually thought she had a stomach bug as she was sick at 4 o'clock this morning, but the dr said said that is what it was...

Hope you are all well and having a good weekend :-)
