Gracie,
There are so many people on here that talk to their relatives in their graves.
I am one of them... I went to one little church site all on my own and had a lovely morning.. I did not know them but they were related to me and I had some morning tea with them... it was sunny and really pleasant. They dutifully supplied me with a lot of information because this church cemetary is one of our many that does not have their burials recorded. I like to think they are happy to have helped me.

Morning all,

Hi Dea, yes I popped in late last night when I had a spare few minutes!

Hi Sylvia :-) glad you are back on board

Ginns, I go out to see my dad but it is an old cemetery and a bit lonely if no one else is around, a bit spooky. I have a chat to, so I probably look like a nutter if anyone saw me! Mind you I tend to say hello when I find a grave of a relative in my tree too, and I always clean it up a bit, pull weeds etc.

Lovely lovely weather here :-D

I guess we all approach things like that differently Dea. Neither OH nor myself have been to the cemetaries where our parents are for years and years. It doesn't mean we don't think about them - we talk about them quite often and have many happy and interesting memories.

I do like going round the local churchyard though.....and I remember far too many of the inhabitants thereof! Very countrified and peaceful.

Dea Report 25 Sep 2011 18:50

OOhh- Ginns - I apologise !!!

I don't see things as you do (I wish I did!!)

It is lovely that you get SO much from visiting your dad and your mom - I just don't really understand it !!

I KNOW - I AM a 'Numpty' !!!

Dea

He was my dad....hes not the deceased!

And how can you say you dont understand on a site like this....numpty ;-)

I get lots going to see dad, I hope he does too but who knows? Me and my oldest bro are fighting to have us on top of dad when we go

First come first serve as they say....we're in no rush to win ;-)

Dea

Dea Report 25 Sep 2011 18:32

Ohhhh - Ginns !!

I don't understand your feelings about the 'deceased' but I do SO admire the loyalty that you pay to them!!

I hope you 'got something' from the time you spent with your dad and that he 'got something' from it also !!

Thinking of you!

I’ve been to the cemetery today....dads anniversary

It was pouring with rain but still spent lots of time talking to him although if he could see me, he'd have gone nuts....me getting wet

I was totally alone, the cemetery was empty which is not the norm....but it was very cathartic as always
