actually C

YES! :-D :-D

Dea ....... I think staples are better than the stitches that get tight and itch as the incision heals

removing them can, I think, be a bit more painful than stitches! That's if the body tissue grows around them.

IF the drain does come out ................................

I can have a SHOWER on Sunday

WHOOPEE!

Do they use an office type staple remover Sylvs? You may need to lie on the floor whilst they hold you down :-D :-D

Hello one and all ~~~~~~

Here and there again today as well as searching some parish records for a pest I know.

Took my once poorly friend home again to pick up some clothes and she was in the kitchen sorting out the cupboards!! Incredible. She hopes to be going home towards the end of October/November. There is a stairlift being fitted next week and I think she will have her bedroom redecorated etc. All systems go!

I am sure you will feel even better when the staples come out Sylvs - I suppose they must be like stitches which get very tight and itchy when they are ready to be removed?

It sound like you are doing well then!

Nice to see you.

The nurse came this morning, re-did the dressing

...... and has put me down to have the staples removed on Saturday. Hopefully, the drain will also be ready to remove then.

There are 2 Public Health nurses who work Saturdays and Sundays ........ and have to cover the whole of Vancouver :-0

If all these reminisces of trips to Blackpool have by any chance planted the seed that it might be fun to go back there sometime may I recommend a private hotel to stay in. The Canasta, which is situated on the Promenade just north of the North pier. That part of the town is less rowdy at night. I have stayed there myself on several occasions. It is clean, comfortable and reasonably priced and its owners, Doug and Mandy are lovely people. Doug is a real live wire always up for a bit of fun, we even persuaded him to come out clay target shooting with us (Much to Mandy's disgust) on one of our trips .

The hotel has a website, www.canastahotel.com which as well as being very informative gives a good indication of the character of its owners. The guestbook comments section (where you will see some of mine, starting in 2002) will give you a good insight.

Keep tabs on your bar bill though. ;-)

My grandmother organised the local old people's club amongst other things.
She arranged lots of coach trips for them including a regular trip to Blackpool each year to see the lights.
She would take my cousin and I with her. I have a vivid memory of my grandfather taking me on the log flume in his late sixties.
There were regular trips to Southend too.
She also ran a local youth group
One of the members was a young man now known as Boy George.

Before she died she got involved in the local history group and she helped write a book of reminiscences of the local residents. I often see the book on sale at WDYTYA live and other family history fairs. Her picture is on the back cover.and there is a photograph of one of the coach trips in it. She is holding my sister's hand who was about two at the time.

Dea, has just eaten OH's sausages ..... oh boy......

We had creamed corn and courgette (zucchini) fritters and fried tomatoes and he had red cod tonight.

Good thing I cooked too much fish.. I have put some in a plastic container and will make him fish pie tomorrow... won't breathe a word where the sausages have gone to. ;-)

That bacon is really nice Dea... I had some last night... made myself a bacon buttie. love them <3.

Makes you wonder...

Mind you I am suprised at the number of events that people found themselves in and were able to explain it away...

ie. a relative had a gambling debt, he couldn't or wouldn't pay..hmm he ended up in the middle of nowhere having drowned..(in a puddle only a couple of mm deep) Young fit, healthy man, worked as a drover so would have been familiar with bush conditions,..

This was in the 1890's..myself I would have probably questioned the circumstances a bit more! Nope just put down as drowning due to "unforseen circumstances' I BET

:-)

What a lot of mysteries and unanswered questions!

FAR too complicated for me at this time of the morning :-D

Very interesting though! - Don't you just love reading through old newspapers?

Yes, Persie - I was feeling 'deprived' until I found the bacon in your fridge- I cooked up a few sausages too and some tomatoes and mushrooms - Now that's what I call a breakfast !!! ;-)

See you all later,

There was one bloke who kept turning up in the paper for stealing etc and being drunk and disorderly, abusing various women and then one where he got fined for abusing his wife as well, another where she went to court and paid the fine because he wasn't well. 9 years later, after him abusing her was publicised, she died and the funeral notice put in was much loved wife of xxxx....

LOL, me too!

It took me ages to follow up all of the newspaper articles and there are a lot of unanswered questions, OR a lot of careless people!

Myself, I'd probably be a bit wary of someone who kept asking me to make a will!

Wth your case...must hae been a BAD cup of tea!
